So how do you get the bed light to turn on and stay on as your unloading? So far it keeps shutting off and I have to open the door again

The icon for the "bed lights" is more like "driving lights" symbol, IMO -
lights pointing down?
Cool, I have landing lights!
They could at least picture something more related......

Thankfully the aftermarket came to the rescue. Plug in modules like the Tazer will allow the lockers in 2WD, 4WD High, whatever you want, plus a couple dozen other settings.
Am I mistaken that even the Tazer only allows 2hi locked up to 30 mph?

I know what you mean. The push button switch within the headlight switch "remembers" the setting and will turn on the bed lights with the interior lights but they shut off after 30 seconds or something like that. If you go back and open the door and push the switch it then turns them off. Push it again and it will keep them on with the interior lights and then you have 30 seconds after you shut the door. I've been trying to find a workaround to this, too. I often spend 5 or 10 minutes at the tailgate and it would be great to not have to leave a door open to keep the bed lights on.

Did I already mention in this thread that it's RETARDED that the bed lights come on with cab doors but not the tailgate?

I wonder about an old-fashioned door jamb courtesy light switch like I have in a tub of switches somewhere - operating a relay that breaks the bed light connection to the cab lights, and connects to a battery feed instead. This would be a piece of cake, a short project, if there was power running to the back for any other reason.

With the ignition off and manually turning on the bed light, the bed light it will eventually shut off (not sure of the exact time to power down).

Prior post said 30 seconds, unless you leave a cab door open. Who wants to do that?
When I want them on, I want them on.
I can see a shut-off timer because of the bed cover - you'd leave them on and forget and come back to a low battery. But anything less than several minutes is silly.

No switch on mine either. Looks the same.
does anyone know how to safely remove these truck bed light from there mounts? Im trying to get access to OEM wiring of these bed lights specifically. I know - a bit of a noob question./ ITs been 10 years since my YJ, I just took ownership of this a couple weeks ago. I will continue to post my MODS as they occur (after the rhino liner is installed.

So I found the answers from the guys from Axleboy who did my Rhino bed liner. For anyone else:

There is a small NOTCH on top of the crystal plastic portion. Take a med width, thin flat head screwdriver and press straight down. About 2-3mm back from "front face", There is a single molded rendition clip that is part of the assembly. Simply PRESS DOWN gently (2-3mm movement) with front blade of flat head (do not try to "Pry Out). The top will come out, then the bottom. There is no clip on the bottom - its just tensioned in there with a plastic tab. I will try to include photos later today.
