I've always done some sort of liner/protector with my beds, but never had a tonneau cover until now. Not using the truck for construction, but will constantly have box of tools, softball/baseball gear, camping and trail riding gear, ect. ect.. in the bed.
I'll have my tonneau cover, but exploring all the different bed protector options, care to give me your pros/cons of each?
Leave it steel- Already color matched, looks good, stuff will slide on it so it's not rough (could be good or bad), but no protection, will scratch eventually
Spray in Liner- Would like to color match if I go this route, but not sure about the color's resistance to UV, or even if that matters since I have a tonneau cover.
Drop in liner- Cheap and protects well against impacts, stuff slides easy too, but I know it can create rust/rubbing issues.
Bed Rug- Admittedly, I know very little about these. Just using logic one of the first things I did was put floor liners in the cab, so not sure why I'd put carpet in an area that is going to get MORE dirty, but if I'm not right about this I'd love to know.
BedMat- Cheap and easy option, would provide good clean protection
Other options? Understanding I could always do a spray in later after the bed is good and scratched (or even if I did a drop in and it rubbed the clear/paint, I could spray later. Any other options? Granite Crystal Metallic color if that matters.
Thanks!
