Bed Rack, Roof Rack, and RTT Recommendations Please

Of course the best option would be a Leitner Forged rack with its 1400lbs static capacity, 800lb dynamic on-road, and 400lbs dynamic off-road capacities! But it is the most expensive and hardest to install

Honestly, this was an EASY install. All of their hardware and instructions are first rate. Their entire ecosystem is super easy to adjust and customize too.

I know! I know! it looks quite silly how it sticks out.
I got the diamond back cover. ATM I’m seeing it I can make a rack that bolts right on to the diamond back with a track system so I can remove the rack.

It was more of the idea for clearance for under ground parking. 1 less thing to worry. Some time we can total forget until it’s too late. It would be a expensive lesson to learn.

Finally got the home made adjustable rack system build to hold the rtt. his way I can still utilize the Diamondback cover when I remove the rtt.

I am planning on getting an Alpha 2 or equivlant rtt, I am going to be tigging up an adjustable bed rack so that I can lower it while driving and parking so that people cant steal my yetis or pelican cases/coolers bikes etc. Then when I want to sleep or camp I can then raise it to above the roofline and then I can either leave it hanging off the back as an awning of sorts so I can cook off my tailgate or maybe I will add sliders to it so that It slides forwards a few feet that way the weight can be centered over the rack and should make getting things out of the bed easier.

start with simple base system then
Build to your needs it is usually less expensive and you get exactly what u want

I’ve had the DV8 for a couple months. Seems well built and the care taken in protection for shipment was very impressive. I did contact them to see if I could purchase a couple extra cross bars and they responded that they don’t have them available so I’ll probably make some myself.

So you can still use the tonneau cover with that rack? Any gaps or still tight seal?

That is the skycamp, which is about 84ish inches correct?

I was looking at the new xcover, which is a bit shorter and struggling to imagine how it would all look and function.

No a tonneau cover wouldn’t work with the DV8 rack. I’ve got the decked drawers in mine.
