Truck Hero?
He's the hero the Jeep Gladiator Forum deserves, but not the one it needs right now.

Otherwise how happy are you with it? I had one (maybe not the same brand but the same exact concept) in an old 98 S10 back in the day that I absolutely loved, and was going to place an order for one here soon for my upcoming Gladiator.

As far as the product... I love it. It's amazing. It would be perfect if they made a cargo rails version. I think it'd be SUPER easy. They just need to have two velcro strips on the sides. One up top where it is now, and one 2 inches below with a scored line telling you to trim here if you have rails.

Brian, who's on first?
What's is on second! Obviously not a grandslam otherwise it would have fit perfectly the first time. Definitely not a slam dunk either.

chris,

You have to locate and punch the holes in the top of the BedRug for the screws to protrude through for reattachment. This can be done with an awl.

Me:

Thanks. I know. That was done. The problem is the side rails have FIVE screws. 4 on the side, and 1 in the rear 90 degrees opposed. You cannot smash the rug enough to get the rear screw on as the rail SMASHES the product back in a 90 degree corner in the rear of the bed. The short 90 portion is offset enough by the rug that sides do not line up. EVENTUALLY, I was able to make it sort of work by using a seam splitter to remove the velcro. This reduced the thickness just enough that I was able to get all 5 screws in. This creates a new issue though - the rug is shoved in the corner so much that the rear side does not evenly reach the rear vertical of the bed side that butts against the tailgate. The product needs revised for rails, period.

Guessing it's like trying to put a fitted sheet on a bed in the wrong direction?! It just doesn't work.

Does their support interface allow you to attach photos?

Or they have a POC here on the forum.

I placed an order when their website advertised 3-4 week delivery time. I called after 5 weeks asking for status... only to be told that their next production run wasn't for ANOTHER MONTH. The price had also dropped ~40 for some reason, so I asked if they could AT LEAST honor the new, lower price for me. I was told that the only way to do that was to cancel my order and place it again... I said HAPPILY please cancel my order.

Its a shame because I loved having a bedrug in the family Ranger and was looking forward to it in my Gladiator. The fitment and communication issues you describe do not entice me even a little bit to look at Bedrug again.

All I can say is if you don't have factory rails it is great and would take you 30 minutes tops. Rails? Big fight you can win but you certainly don't have BedRug to help you. At the end I like it but yeah....wtf dude?

Why not just use longer bolts
That's what I was thinking... Longer bolts. I had no issues with mounting my builtright rails probably in part because those came with longer bolts. All in all the install for me wasn't tough. Just very time consuming. Fortunately I installed a Bedrug in my Tacoma a few years ago so I had experience. For you guys wanting to do the bedrug make sure you have a good box cutter knife as there is a lot of diy. You have to make your own slits for any tie down points, bed lights and where the electrical outlet is. Also like OP said you have to cut holes ( I cut "+" signs) wherever the bedrail holes are. I'm overall really happy with my bedrug.
BTW for you guys looking for one. Make sure you guys use that group buy price. If I recall is was like $339 plus tax if applicable.

BTW @ecidiego did you get everything worked out?

PS....I just remembered. The velcro strips sit above the rail system. So if you cut bolt holes they should be below the long Velcro upper strips. Meaning the whole rail should sit just below the long Velcro which also enables everything to fit.

My velcro strips were literally lined up right with the bolt holes. Dead center. Sounds like there is some variation in production. I removed the velcro. Bolt length wasn't the issue. Lining up hole 5 on the rear at the same time as the 4 on the bedside was the issue due to the velcro.
