I thought the General Grabber ATX's I ran were fantastic tires. Low noise, had great life out of them (over 52K miles on them from Oct 2020 to May 2025) and still had decent amount of tread life left. 3 peak snow rating doesn't mean much for you (unless your Texas location sees snow). I would rate them better then the Hankook DynaPro AT's i had on a 2010 JKUR, and the Cooper AT's, Toyo AT's, and General X3's I had on my 2016 and 2017 Ram 1500's

I wanted the ATX's again when i upgraded to 37's back in May but they discontinued that size in a 17" rim.
I'll second this. I'm running these now, I've got about 60K on them and still good tread life. My JT is my daily driver, about 50 miles highway each day, and I have zero complaints about these.

Don't mean to highjack the thread but this is a fun conversation. I looked for takeoff tires etc but for months no real good deals came around so I decided I was just going to trash the factory LT highway tires that were on it, I also like the factory wheels and I didn't think I could get much for the factory tires alone since no one wants a Gladiator with highway tires. This worked well since I knew I had a move to the Southwest coming and I didn't feel like taking the trip driving from NC to Nevada with a loaded U-Haul in tow with brand new oversized AT tires. The factory tires did well on highway giving me decent gas mileage while towing a small trailer for over 2k miles in 3 days.

And trash I did... Ran them for about 25k miles total and they even did Ok in NC on snow and dirt/gravel roads. I never did any crazy off-road with them out east. Then I started to get a lot more aggressive when I got to AZ and NV, and that took a toll on them really quick. When I took them to be replaced I LOVED the tire place's reps face that came out to check fit for the new Falkens when he saw the chucks of rubber missing and probed the cuts and how deep they went

Haha. Nice.

Too late now, but I sold them by listing them as what they are 255/70/18 Dueler H/Ts (iirc). A decent amount of trucks use that tire size and the guy who bought them thought it was a great deal because it was half the cost of new and they were basically brand new. He had a GMC IIRC.

I didn't think about them being of interest to another truck owner. Oh well I didn't think about it that hard anyway. Happy I got to tear mine up for "science"

On a serious note, I actually learned how TRULY important it is to have the right tires for the job.

I have Toyo Open Country AT3s in 285/75/17 and am pleased with them. Very little noise, and they are wearing evenly with a little over 18K miles on them. Based on the rate of wear I fully expect to get 50K out of them. They've been really good off-road as well.

After hearing what everyone had to say, this is what I am leaning towards. In this exact same size too!

Wish a local tire shop had the 35 x 11.5 in stock but this isn't too far off.

I’ve never ran Toyos, but I’ve heard from multiple people that their A/Ts are good and balance out really well.

No Discount Tire near you? They are good about transferring tires from shop to shop.

They said they are in back order at the moment and unsure how long I would have to wait.

That's weird because I just checked their website and it said available as soon as tomorrow. I don't know where in TX you are, but I just plugged in the San Angelo, TX location.

Getting ready to get new tires from the factory Mudders - Leaning on KO3 but a size up 285/70R17 - Goal - Quieter, still aggressive looking, and can do the occasional trail that has some short mud puddles.

I think it is interesting that many people comment here about the Falken AT3Ws being quiet. I put them on the 2016 Colorado 4x2 that I traded for my Gladiator. They rode and handled well, and they got around well in the rain and snow until they wore down and started hydroplaning. When I researched them, everyone on the Colorado message boards said their biggest drawback was noise. They were noisier than the stock street tires when I had the AT3Ws installed. After about 20,000 miles, they were extremely loud, and I thought I had worn bearings. I replaced them with the Grabber A/T Xs after about 50,000 miles, and my Colorado was much quieter for the next 30,000 miles or so.

The Grabber A/T X seemed to be comparable to the AT3W in all other respects, although the steering didn't feel quite as sharp. I had Grabber A/T 2s on an '89 Sierra regular cab/long bed, and that thing was rock solid in the snow, even without ABS and traction control. That's what made me get the A/T Xs for the Colorado.

Now, compared to the Firestone M/T2s that came on my '24 Gladiator Willys, the Falkens were probably quieter. The M/T2s cupped around 15,000 miles and make the whole truck shake below 55 mph. I've got about 24,000 miles on the truck and tires. My 2001 TJ with 193,000 miles and Goodyear AT tires that the previous owner put on rides smoother. I'm planning to replace the tires on the Gladiator before too long, but I keep going back and forth between the AT3W / AT4W, Grabber A/T X, and K03. Now I'm looking at the Grabber X3, also. I'm thinking of going with the 285/70-17s instead of 255/75-17s because there are more choices available. If I stay with the stock size, the KO3s are one of a small number of choices.

I do like the grip that the M/T2s have, but they have tread blocks worn at all different depths, even when comparing blocks in the same orientation and location in the tread design. If the Grabber X3s wear more evenly than the M/T2s, I would pay the extra money compared to the A/T Xs.

Those look like the tires on my wife's Transit Connect. She delivers mail on rural routes, with plenty of gravel driveways and maybe an occasional dirt road. She wore out and/or popped the stock tires very quickly. General Altimax RT45s hold up better, but still only last about 9 months before going bald. I wish we could find an all-terrain tire that fit, but the tire size is the same as the Honda Civic and similar small cars. The Wrangler that she had for a delivery vehicle before the Transit Connect burned through a set of General A/T X tires much faster than my old Colorado did.

I replaced my Falken ATs with less than 500 miles on my Gladiator as I wanted a taller tire. I ran a set of Cooper S/T Maxx in LT285/75 R17 for 50k miles. I was out of country working and my brother was driving my Gladiator. He put on a set of Cooper Discoverer AT3s in LT285/75 R17. It's slightly lower and slightly wider than the S/T Maxx despite the same "size." I did some research as I plan for the next set and currently leaning toward the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T in LT255/85R17 35X10.00R17LT . These are almost a true 35" tire and can be found ~$370 a tire. Just feel like this tire, pending new info, will be my next tire.

Ok its about time to get new Tires - I have stock Willys Wheels with BF Mud Tires - Loud they are - Should I just get the KO3 - LT255/75R17 6C 111/108S (Is this the good verison of the Ko3, I thought I watched a video and they released an updated version of the Ko3).

Second - Should I go this size, or go up a size, everything I am still stock but my MPG is something I dont care about.

Third - Should I get a 5th tire and replace the spare - or keep my Mudder Spare that came with Jeep as that will work fine?

PS These will be quieter than the BF Mud tires right, lol? =P

Try some of the Nexen Commercial rated tires for her mail route. I always had good luck with those on the full sized Transit. They did pretty good in all weather as well. Held up for 50-60k miles on the van with regular rotations.

All depends on what you use your truck for? You won't be disappointed with BFG AT's (either K02's or K03's.). The really only complaint about BFG, is they run small. My 37's are about 36.5 compared to my old General Grabber 35's which were a true 35" tire.

Yes, they will be so much quieter then your MT's. You can go up a size and not worry about rubbing. You could get a 285/70/17 which is about 3/4" taller tire then the 255's. And your speedo won't be that far off, but there are tazer, Jscan, and other options if you want to dial it in.
