Best Spacer Lift?

Tons of information on spacer lifts in the Forum, but not much placing one vs the other. Some are very complete such as the AEV spacer lift, some are very simple such as the Teraflex. Dollar for dollar which is the best most compete spacer lift?

AEV, Teraflex, Daystar, etc....

For all the bits and bobs needed to do it right for a spacer lift, the AEV is the best quality setup in my opinion. Daystar is a mixed bag for their kit.

i have the aev lift and wanted a slight lift but also retain the rake. If you want a level, teraflex 1.5” would do. The 2.5” rough country level will put you nose high.

Really depends on what you want. The teraflex tops out at only 1.5", and is fine for that height. You can adjust it to .5" or 1", too . After an alignment, all my geometry is in spec. I have Teraflex 1.5" in front, and the Daystar .75" in back. Beyond this small lift, you'll want more components to correct geometry.

For the $150 I paid for the teraflex, and the $Free I paid for the Daystars on back, I couldn't be happier.
Aev is 2" all around, and very nice.

You can just piece your own together as well, a spacer is a spacer.

I went 2" steel IRO spacers for the springs and shocks. Sway links and lower control arms from the mopar kit. Bump stops and carrier bearing spacer from RockJock. Front track bar from Clayton.

Ended up adding another 1" from teraflex to the front to level it some. That results in a 1" loss of down travel, however.

As others have chimed in, it depends on what your objective is. Personnally, I have used AEV for two lifts. The first was their 2.5" dual sport suspenstion for my 2014 JK. At around 1K, it was pretty complete: springs, shocks, brake line brackets, new rear track bar, front link extensions, and bump stop extensions. Had me reuse the stock rear links. I added the geo corrention brackets. The JK ran great on and off road. I eventually added an adjustable front track bar to move the front axle back and also a new steering stablizer/ shock. Just Empty Every Pocket. You see the the trend...once you start, you can't stop!

There are some kits that really include everything including adjustable control arms, front and rear track bars, longer sway bar links, etc. That goes back to what size lift you are shooting for. I think once you get past 2.5" or so, those become much more important considerations as drive shaft angles change along with the caster.

On my Mojave, I used AEV's 2" spacer lift because I wanted to retain the factory fox shocks and springs which was the point of buying that trim in the first place. So far, very happy with it and AEV says you can run up to 37" tires on the right set of wheels with it. Currently, I am running 35's.
So think about:
  • What you are going to use the jeep for - how much clearance do you want, and how loaded down will you be?
  • What size tires are you intenting to run?
  • Other upgrades planned suchs as bumbers, winch, and overlanding equipment - adds weight. Heavier = stiffer springs. With some kits you can chose light/med/heavy springs, so you want to make sure you get the right ones for your intended use. If you go too stiff with a light load, you'll bounce around or jar across things like washboard roads
One little tip I learned was to see if you can find online installation instructions for the kits you are looking at. This allows you to see what is involved and understand what is included to help you further decide.

Teraflex spacer level kit was great for me. I can’t speak to their bigger spacer lifts. AEV is great from what I’ve read on the forum, but if it were my money, I’d go with Daystar’s spacer lift. Comes with control arms which the other two brands don’t include. Best bang for your buck in my opinion.

It's hard to find a spacer lift with truly everything you SHOULD get. I bought the longer MOPAR arms from Rockauto for $30 each to add to the AEV lift and everything is perfect.
