I honestly don't buy anything OE unless its under warranty. You can get the filter cartage from AutoZone way cheaper the dealer. Shit my dealer even sells NON-OE filter WTF!!!
I hear you on wiper blades and such
but I figure if I use the penzoil 0-20 and an OE filter its less of a battle at the dealer if warranty issues come up

I have found most OEM blades are garbage in the NH winter with Slush sleet and heavy snow, The only Blade I use is the Rain-X latitude. it is the best 4 season blade. I run them on everything all 6 vehicles I get a full year out of them.
However to keep any blade living longer, periodically clean the wipe edge with a scotch-brite pad, then wipe the blade clean with rubbing alcohol
Those last about 2-3 months for me in the high desert.

I just picked up some Scrubblade brand from wal mart. its a dual blade wiper with little nubs. I can only guess the nubs are to scrub bugs. No complaints they went through an icy winter in NY with no issues.

That's better than my OEM, built around June '23. Probably crapped out a while ago based on the damage. I don't drive in the rain much, so hadn't noticed.

However, I'm in Michigan and park outside, so I've got sun and snow. Which is probably why the more expensive ones have never served me well in the past. Time and elements will do its job no matter what. And even if they don't fall apart, they quickly get to the point of leaving a streak. Which has scientifically been proven to always occur at eye level (I assume).

Unless silicone really is something special, cheap is the way to go for frequent changes. Thanks for the update!

My truck is in a garage maybe 10 time a year. Other than that she is baking it up in the California sun.

I've tried them all, the big name brands (Bosch and so on) and others. I've tried those with special materials, those that swear they last forever, whatever, always have gone back to OEM wiper blades.
I've tried them all on my various cars and just never found anything that held up or was worth the premium price.
Winter ice, snow, sun/heat, sand and grit, all mess with them. The premo fashion brands just never did any better than stock for me.

only Blade I use is the Rain-X latitude. it is the best 4 season blade.
Tried them on my cars because they are only 2 speed wipers, although one has "intermittent" setting - figuring they'd do better - no better on my cars, was disappointed.
They may do better for others, but they just didn't meet expectations vs. just plain old stock on my cars.

After reading all of this again - I guess one could summarize - the best are what work best for you, and where you live.
I see comments on deserts, high altitudes will matter due to UV, do you get ICE storms, snow, freezing rain, sand/dust/grit?

Lots of good ideas here - you just have to pick some of the comments that match your needs and try 'em.

you are right on my older cars with 2 speeds not a game changers but in a area with 4 true seasons, they are a good all season blade, since i hate swapping out blades, i see the most results on newer auto type wipers

I bought the cheapest Michelins at Walmart. $15 for the pair. They wipe better than the $50/pair Michelin endurance XTs that I had on previously.

my uneducated opinion is because those beam style are meant for curved windshields and the gladiator has a generally flat one. If you wanted a beam style the next best would be the rain x hybrid beam as it has the flat profile and hinged construction of the wipers of yesteryear hidden behind a beam blade style cover.

On my '06 Ram I bought new, I got a good part of a year out of the original wipers. I lived in Houston and between the heat, sun and crap in the air rubber parts don't usually last long. After the OE wipers hardened up I decided to try every high dollar wiper on the market and none of them lasted more than two or three months. I finally got pissed and bought the cheapest house brand I could find. Those things out lasted everything but the OE. On my Jeep the cheapest I can find is the Michelins at Costco. $10.99 each. The only reason I changed the last set in four or so months is because Safelite insists on new wiper blades to guarantee their windshields and I wasn't about to buy a set of their $79 blades.

Makes one wonder if they insist on new blades to guarantee a windshield.
