The soft doors will keep you dry. What happens is the leak through the gaps. Usually a quick passing shower is a non event. A prolonged heavy rain event, you may need to pull the plugs in the floor. That’s why I’ll throw a cover over them.
What about while driving in the rain. Does water come up through the gap in the lower front part of the door where it cannot get snug by the lower hinge?

A little after awhile at high speed. It beats the alternative thought having the whole jeep soaked. They’re also great on cold days/nights. Again, being I run doorless a lot, they are a necessary evil. Just try to find them on sale or preowned.

When you throw them on, do they do adequate at keeping water out?

Another user above notes one may want to throw a cover over the doors in the rain, which to me largely defeats the purpose, since if I'm using a cover I don't need the doors in the first place.

Ultimately I find these doors super stupid looking, and they're expensive and seem poorly constructed (i.e. Bestop should bend them themselves if they need to be bent to be properly installed). BUT I'm also part of the tiny minority who bought their JK with the $0 faculty half door option and on my Gladiator I find myself taking my doors off infrequently because I fear our sudden Florida rain so I'm still considering these issues notwithstanding.

I'm not sure how well they work in rain yet because I always drive with doors off and on nice days (my JT is not my daily driver). Bought the soft doors for road trips). But they worked ok at keeping water out at the car wash.

Did you run it through the car wash as a test or just didn't think much of it.

Ive really been beating around the idea of these…I flip flop between these being “good enough” or just splurging on the full half doors that are perfect
Where have you found the full half doors???

Interesting Question and I think I'm going to post it to the main forum.

For people who got the Dual Door Group with uppers, I wonder if the Uppers flap like the Bestop doors do?

I mean that as in full blown actual half doors from jeep, not just “half doors” that are really tube doors with a skin on em.

I went to one of those quarter-fed, self car washes to spray mud off my Jeep after visiting an off road park. I didn't try to test the doors, so they only experienced limited water "splash". But I bought them not because I expected them to be waterproof, but because I expect them to be more rain proof than the alternative of having no doors in a rain storm.

For what it’s worth, zero flapping or pulling away from the body on my JK Jeep half doors used for 100k+ miles.

Thanks for the review and thoughts...

I've been really thinking of getting these soft doors, but only to keep in the bed for emergency rain protection if I have hard doors off. Hearing that they aren't water tight is making me nervous that they wouldn't really be a good emergency help. Here in Florida our "surprise" showers can really be a severe amount of water, so I'm not that excited about a pool in the floorboards. Am I misreading the issue?

thanks again!

Look at it this way, with the doors you would get a lot less wet that if you didn't have the doors at all. Hell, I know people that leave their Jeeps naked and just let them get wet. They dry out and work like they should.

To add to my review. We had some really bad storms last night. A small tornado went by the house a mile or two away, we had a little hail and sideways rain, and the rain was heavy. When I went out to the Gladiator this morning I was expected a soaked carpet based on the reviews I read. Inside was VERY dry. I had a few drip marks, but I was very impressed at how the doors kept the rain out.

After running with these doors the past few weeks I am happy with the purchase. I take the doors off all the time and put them in the bed of the truck. For my life these doors definitely are serving the purpose I bought them for.

If I had to drive on a highway for long periods at 70 mph or higher, I would be bothered by the door flap at that speed, for a prolonged period of time.

Good luck to anyone who purchases the doors in the future and if you do please post what you think.

This is @Bestop replacement for the core doors. So you buy the HighRock Doors with the Enclosure Panels plus the Upper Fabric half doors. In total for the just the Front setup with twill uppers your looking at $1,515 for the whole Front Door Setup. That's double the price for the soft Doors. The question is, do these uppers flap or not?
