I think I got maybe a half inch of extra legroom with the misch brackets.
I didn't notice anymore leg room but I couldn't really set in my JT with it installed. My head would bang just trying to get in even.

Hi @Mattkuhn1986 thanks for posting! I plan to tackle this mod in the near future. I haven’t analyzed my seat yet but why are the two 1/2” drilled holes required?

this is the question I walk away with too. Are they new seat positions that get created?

I may go do this today.

It’s so you can secure the new adaptors to the seat rails

FREEDOM!! Holy crap this is awesome!!

I’m 6’8 proportionate with a 36” inseam. This feels like an entirely new vehicle after doing this modification. My knee use to rest pretty hard against the center console and now is approximately 3.5”away as OP states. My head is just about at the sound bar but not hitting it unless I really try.

This took me an hour from start to finish going easy and paying attention to directions while double and triple checking at times. I used a rubber mallet to jockey the rails forward when removing the ball bearings and spacers which allowed me a little control from them flying across the garage. Learned this after the first one and the mallet worked like a charm for the remaining.

Thank you!

the 1/2” holes are drilled for the seat glider to have the new extended seat position. They allow the glider lock supports new locations to click into.

Thanks for this thread @Mattkuhn1986! 6’10” and didn’t fit horribly, but could have used another inch of legroom. Tried the Seat Jackers, and although my knee room was better, the extra inch or two lift put me almost eye level with the headliner. So tried this today, and although I got stuck for a sec with a couple of the steps, once I figured them out, it was perfect!

I did this today, but I only bent the 1st tab out of the way.
The balls came out there and the spacers just slid out the back.

Like Scmoken, I only bent the one tab per rail (two rails per seat).
-Also, I only removed one ball and one spacer per rail which let the seat go back an easy two inches more per side.
-Last tip: 3/8 inch drill bit was plenty for new holes (for the seat locating pins to drop into as you move the seat farther back.
Great mod! I'm six foot but long legs and this makes a huge difference.

Found this old thread on seat modification for a few more inches of adjustmant. Just had total knee replacement on my right knee, and just need a few more inches of adjustment to get in and out ok. Was going to buy the Misch big boy extenders but sure don't need 6", and with the extenders, and seat all the way forward, my 5' tall wifey couldn't reach the pedals.

Anyway, if the OP is still around, or anyone that did this mod, what does stop the seat from sliding out the back lf the stop is removed, and, have you had any trouble with the seat after the mod?

Hopefully there's someone left on here to answer.

Thanks for your time.
