I am torn.

I have Sting Grey and after a year I am trying to decide if I want to switch to the black satin grill or stay with the sting grey grill. I like both. I need a rental program where I can rent the grill for a few weeks to see if I like it or not (LOL).

Wrap it, easy to take off if you don't like it

I'm in the exact same boat as you... I've seen it on a few JT's on here, and I love it. I just know if it'll be too much black, as I have plastic fenders, a soft top and a Softtopper.

I've seen a couple grills wrapped....Looks good and its like having Clear Bra (except its black). The upright face of the jeep makes it bug/rock chip prone.

Plastidip, rattle can black. Done deal.

If you like it you buy a new grill or just keep the now satin black. If you don't, just peel it off.

I monkeyed with black, grey, color shifting titanium look... you can play all kinds of games and if you don't like it, off it comes.

It gets a bad wrap (har har) because folks don't put in the prep time or build up the thickness to peel it off right.

I use it as a surface protection mostly and mostly it does all right. For the cost of two cans and a warm afternoon you can see if its the look for you.

Orange you glad I didn't go with safety lime?

One day the hood got done, then the hood got striped. One day it may all change.

personally the angry eye grills kind of ruined the satin one for me. All of them are black for the most part making me sadly think I see an ugly heep when I see a black grill from a distance. kind of sad because I do like the look of the satin one.

No regrets at all.

Other than not wrapping the red stripe up and around?

Wrap it in gloss black. Much easier to clean. My wife's Rubi has gloss and mine is satin. Mine always looks... meh. Hers looks nice!

I purchased a used JT takeoff grill. i too prefer the gloss black over the satin black. I should've put XPEL or 3m film over it since it's very susceptible to road debris but it will take ME an hour or more to remove the grill.
