Body ground bolts by battery

The larger bolt I am pointing to here.... Not sure what it is used for. Maybe on the diesel or automatic model?

Either way, does anyone know the size/thread pitch. It had no nut from the day I bought it. Not sure if it's supposed to or not, but seems like a great grounding location.

Same thread pitch as the one next to it and it's a spare place for a ground ..

Yep same as the one next to it. Mine had a painted nut and I use that ground for some aux lighting.

Interesting. I tried moving the one nut over since I am currently using that spot temporarily for the switch pros, and it wasn't even close to the same diameter... So, a little confused.

Yeah let me know please. I could have just been cross threading I guess but I couldn't even get it started.

It is a nice feature and I would love to use that spot for a lot of my grounds.

That is the ground post I used for my pre-runner lights. Can't say that I know the thread pitch. I hunted a stainless nut down in my drawers of odds and ends and found one. I think it is a course thread metric size though. I was too nervous to attempt the removal of painted one after hearing some guys breaking them off.

I think it is a course thread metric size though. I was too nervous to attempt the removal of painted one after hearing some guys breaking them off.

My painted one came off super easy. But I was still nervous as well with these rigs having so many electrical components... I would feel much better with all the accessories on their own ground (and power) not associated with any other factory item. Hoping someone can give me insight so I can find the right nut to switch everything over to the unused one.

It is kinda strange it does not even have a nut on it to me.

My bad ..it is larger than the others on my 2021...A 13mm x 1.25 thread pitch is what you need.. I had a nut laying around off of one of my motorcycles

I used the painted ones for two grounds. They loosened fine and went back fine. Never had any problems

OK, what the OP’s picture doesn’t show…

There are two ground studs that are the same. The 3rd bolt in the middle is actually on the end of the ground cable, and is a different size.
Any of the three will be good for grounding.

Gonna have to look again cause I dont remember seeing 3...only the 2.

But the middle large one in your photo is the one I was hoping to use.

You can just make it out on my 2022 under my terminal strip.
Is it a aux switch thing? Or does any 2022 with or without aux switches have this different cable?

This is the other ground point further forward.

yeah but why would the ground cable have a stud on it. thats kinda weird... I have never seen that before. I have aux switches...so it can't be that. only thing I can think of is it has something to do with the diesel option. that would make the most sense.

I still want to use it though.
