Well to say the least, I am pissed. I purchased this gladiator last week. It’s been raining all week so I wasn’t able to really inspect her. Finally took her off-road and while washing her down, I noticed the hood was dented. Fortunately I had photos from delivery showing the damage at the dealership. I barely put 200 miles on her!

dropped her off Monday morning for that and a start stop service issue. I have not had a response back yet, nor timing from my service advisor. My sales person vaguely said at least two weeks for the repairs.

I’m certainly pissed. And the manager won’t do anything or even give me updated timing.
Do we have a FCA rep here? Would you guys demand anything from the dealer for the hassle? What would you do if you were in my shoes?

The dealership is located in Orange County, CA

You said sales says at least two weeks for repairs, but then the manager won't do anything. What is the manager not doing; can you clarify? Are they making you pay for the repairs? If they're covering it, as frustrating as it is, things will probably work more in your favor if you just roll with it.

With or without dents I gotta say that's a fine looking truck!

Looks like someone flopped it back to the windshield and lost control... I kinda wish they had put bumpers on the hood for that.
Keep in mind your hood can be opened by anyone, anywhere...

You are right. There were a few dents on the windshield frame too. Although when I picked it up it said start stop service required, upon checking the Uconnect website, it said the dealership had replaced the battery already once. Perhaps then is when it was dented. Vehicle also had 90 miles when I picked it up. Granted they did a dealer swap, but it wasn’t 90 miles away more like 40.

You better be prepared to be cursed out and slandered for speaking the truth about piss poor quality control on this forum. I ordered a Jeep and waited patiently for it to be delivered with 3 of the 4 wheels scratched to the metal, one scratch on the hood and 2 scratches order the clear rock chip protectors on the rear color matched fender flares. Same color as your Sting gray. I love that color. But I heard so many excuses and conspiracy theories as far as the shipping company scratching everything and then covering them up with the clear rock chip protectors to cover their damage. Oh yeah my Jeep was also soaking wet inside already. So good luck with the thread. Oh yeah also according to people on this forum JEEP is perfect and don’t sell defected products and are 100% not responsible for quality control or piss poor quality. They have so many new Gladiators being sold with the START /START codes and problems and they haven’t solved the problem nor do they care and are still shipping and selling the new vehicles with these known problems. I declined acceptance of my special order and just cancelled my reorder because of absolutely piss poor quality products. I have better things to spend my $50-$60k hard earned dollars on. Like another CVO HARLEY. GOD bless and good luck.

@1911tacticalnut you seem to not like hearing truth.

Factory inspections will pull vehicles for any number of reasons, all of which are for YOUR benefit.

Put some thought in, how would wheels get scratched at the plant versus on a car carrier being handled by a third party on a tight and unforgiving schedule. I'm gonna say the truckie scratched the wheels. But hey, you ride a harley so no one can tell you anything about piss poor factory quality control right?

As for this hood, yeah it went up and over and caught the windshield, probably when battery 2 went in, like sitting on a car carrier with an angry truckie cursing it because hes got to unload quick. Shame on the dealer for not flaging it during their own PDI before showing it to you. I made my dealer wash and interior clean my jk because it was covered in road film, dirty shoe prints and finger smudges. They didn't bat an eye at the request and said they were showing me the jeep not presenting for delivery.

I'd get your dealer to get the other dealer on the horn and sort it out quick with corporate assuming the plateless photo shows it at the lot before it became yours.

At least this pandemic is putting things into better perspective. There are 2 guys in this thread who need a reality check. I'm not saying who they are but if the shoe fits...

For your own health, I would recommend refocusing your mind to something which does not evoke senses of anger or frustration. Stress (and viruses) will kill you. It wasn't that people believed you shouldn't have received a near-perfect product upon delivery, but your own message delivery which resulted in the response your post(s) received. But, hey, it's your time and energy. Keep reading the forum and bringing it up if you want, despide deciding that you won't purchase an FCA vehicle...

In this case, it's pretty clearly a dealer issue which needs to be resolved. I'm glad the OP has pictures to prove the damage at the time of delivery. If they won't make it right, litigate. BTW, what happened to the rainy delivery photos which had been posted?
