Many of Us have purchased the same model jeep back to back. I would love to hear the stories why..

I had a 2020 JT sport. Loved it. But realized I got the wrong trim and should have got at least 1 locker.
My original plan was to build up the '20. Put together the plan. Wife laughed at the spend on a "used" truck as it was almost.5 years old and nearly 80k miles.
List included regear, lockers, lift kit with shocks new rims and tires. A 5 figure spend but a lot cheaper than new.
She talked me into buying new and spending a lot less on upgrades.
I got the JTM '24. Great truck.
First time buying the same model twice.

If Jeep offers a hemi and 4.56 gears in the future they will get a 3 peat

Tell your rebuy Jeep stories. What made you buy the same Jeep twice?
1965 Commander with a snow plow. Moved to the south and traded for a econobox. Then a ‘91 YJ, 2.5 YJ stick shift, 2006 TJ Sahara I-4, stick shift, 2012 JK 2 dr, 2015 JK 4 dr Sahara, 2015 JK 2 dr, 2021 JT. Some of these Jeeps overlapped each other.

I haven’t bought the exact same Jeep vehicles per se…. Just Wranglers (YJ, TJ, JK, JKU) and now a Gladiator (still have my TJ) There is just something about taking the top off that I NEED. Also, the ability to go damn near anywhere, that I just love. I guess it all boils down to FREEDOM! ‘Merica! 😂

I remember a bunch of people during covid vehicle shortages on here were getting calls from dealerships offering to buy their Gladiators back for more than they originally bought them for. People were originally paying something like $44k for their Gladiator, and then 6 months later the dealership would call and offer them like $46k, and a lot of people seemed to bite on that. Then they'd take that money and buy a new Gladiator in the same trim. I probably would have done that too if I'd ever gotten that offer.

I purchased a 2020 Sport S new. It was already lifted with aftermarket tires and wheels by the dealership. I guess it was a way to get them off the lot right before the '21 came out. I added an aftermarket bumper to flat tow it behind our motorhome. I kept it for a year and was going to sell it and custom order a Mojave.
Well, my wife needed a new car, so I just sold it for more than what I paid for it those covid crazy prices for used trucks. I already had a Mustang as my daily driver.
In April of '24 a lady pulled out in front of my and my Mustang was totaled. So, I definitely wanted a new Gladiator since I really missed the first one. I was set on Mojave but a new '22 Rubicon still on the lot was priced too good to pass up.
I have since added Mojave shocks on front and rear and SumoSprings. Will eventually add RockHard bumper for flat towing.

Ordered a 2021 JTRD and absolutely love it and the way it drives. Wanted something else for short drives to keep miles off the diesel so I bought a 2023 Mojave with a soft top when they were deeply discounted in 2024.

I've always owned Jeeps since my first in 1974, so getting another Jeep is no surprise for me. As far as getting another Gladiator goes, that is another story. I bought a 2020 Mojave and really liked the small truck/Jeep platform. But I have also competed in desert racing events off and on for 30 years, and have always been a go fast off-road kind of guy, and a horsepower freak. When they released the TRX I ordered one, and in 2022 I traded my JT Mojave for a TRX for even better go fast off-road fun. I also bought a 2022 392 XR that year, which is now on 40s and has numerous mods. So, we had both a capable Jeep and a fun go fast truck. In 2023 my wife wanted something more capable for Rocky Mountain winters than the Jeep Compass she was driving. I told her she could have whatever she wanted, and took her to half a dozen different dealerships. We looked at Toyota, Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, and Jeep small and mid-sized SUVs and pickup trucks. After a week of looking and test driving I told her to choose the one she wanted. She chose a 2023 Gladiator Mojave that had a Mopar lift and 35s on it. She loves it, and drives it everywhere. She doesn't worry about bad weather any more either.

And I get the added fun of slowly modding her Jeep as well as mine. So far her JT Mojave has a Motobilt front bumper with a Warn 12K winch, Rockslide Engineering step sliders, and Apex quick disconnects. I also improved the Mopar lift with Metalcloak control arms and adjustable track bars.

Thank you! Still amazed that the wife told me to buy the Mojave. I guess she was tired of me “borrowing” her car for short trips around town.

I have a bare bones 2021 Sport. Manual transmission. No power windows or door locks (wife is OK without the lighted vanity mirror).

I only have 30K miles on it and hope it lasts many years.

If (and this may be a big if), I can get a basic, simple JT down the road, I will do bare bones again. It meets my needs of light off-roading hunting grouse on logging roads and getting me through the snow.

My jeep repeat was for the engine. My 2015 Grand Cherokee Overland with the EcoDiesel has treated us well. When we decided to downsize from the RAM 3500 DRW - the 2023 EcoDiesel Gladiator Rubicon was just the ticket. I'm happy to have the Gladiator back from its over 2-month stay at the dealer awaiting a replacement steering wheel. The wife has her Grand Cherokee, and I have my Gladiator. Happy with it as my 70 mile daily driver

I leased a 2022 Gladiator Willys because my Ford dealer put together a sweetheart deal for Bronco reservationists who needed a vehicle while they waited for their reservations to get built. The deal was a cheap price and a guaranteed no money owed buyout when the reservation arrived. Didn't have a choice on the trim or transmission. Ordered in October 2021.

By the time my Willys showed up (Dec 21), Ford had done fucked around with the allocation formula, penalizing customers who ordered from dealers doing actual deals (my bronco was reserved at 4% below invoice). So based on the allocation formula Ford gave my dealer, it looked like my Bronco wouldn't be built until 2026.

At this point, i'm in a gladiator already, and really enjoying it. Only thing missing from a vehicle I'd actually want to buy instead of lease is a proper transmission. I was kind of on the fence as to whether or not to give up on the Bronco... but then they announced Gobi ordering had started (March 2022). That little extra bit was enough to push me over the edge.

I ordered a manual Mojave in Gobi, told my dealer to keep my Bronco reservation for themselves as a thank you, and by May 2022 had my current truck in my possession.

A Bronco attached to my reservation showed up in June 2024. But, the dealer had changed it from a 2dr hardtop to a 4dr softtop when i told them to keep it, so no idea when my Bronco as-ordered might have shown up.
Obviously you prefer the manual, but calling that hot garbage plagued by recalls in the JT and JLs the REAL transmission over possibly the best auto ever made in the 8 speed is like calling Kaitlyn Jenner a REAL woman.

1. It's an Aisin transmission built in Japan. The transmission itself is fantastic. I've owned a few Aisins over the years and have always found them wonderful. Just because jeep paired a poorly matched clutch doesn't mean the transmission itself is anything approaching hot garbage. It's fantastic

2. "Possibly the best automatic transmission ever made" is a title that belongs to ZF transmissions built by ZF in Germany. Unless you have a diesel (which gets a proper german-built ZF) your transmission is a ZF-licensed design built by Chrysler.
