- No full length hinge on the doors, so water will leak/run through the gap when doors are open. This is the case with most aluminum caps on the market that I've seen, so it's not just a bad design on Campones part. Should be easily mitigated, I cover this in the video.
Would a small piece of aluminum bar stock with a bend bolted above (or below deepening on your perspective) divert water away from the gap? Thinking like a cricket on a roof.

Things to keep in mind:
- No way to mount an awning. Not a huge deal for me since I seldom use them anyways. Looking at a Moonshade for the few times I do need one.
- Ladder can not be left attached to tent when closed and must be stored separately.
- No anti-condensation pad included. Might not be much of an issue being it's a passthrough floor.
Hmm. I do a lot of beach fishing, having the ability to add an awning is high on my list. I've got an older Slumberjack tarp thing that works okay but it hates windy days on the beach. It's part of what's prevented me from getting a Moonshade or similar.

Do you think there's enough room to add an aftermarket anti condensation pad?

Things I haven't determined yet:
- Can bedding be left in tent when closed? I'm not thinking so, the roof shape leaves a lot of room in the middle, but since it tapers down on the edges I think thats where the floor will get hung up. (floor piece that folds outwards needs room to be pushed up a little when folded in, I think the edges of the roof will want to push it back down too much)
TBF, bedding in the tent is a must have. I camped with an iKamper a couple years back during the winter and it was a royal PITA moving all of our bedding back and forth between the back seat and the tent, while our friends with the AluCab were able to leave everything in theirs.

You sleep the other way, not lengthwise with the bed. When the tent is open it's roughly 6'6" bed length IIRC, but I'll verify when I get home.
It would be nice to see the actual specs on this. I use my truck as a truck too much to keep this on full time, but a must-have for the next house is a shop space where a camper could be stored when not in use.
I'm entirely done with sleeping on the ground.

You could, but I don't think it would have enough affect on it. You'd either stop water from running down the enclose side, or you'd stop water from running back down the door, but not both.

I have some 1/16 in rubber mat that I'm going to cut down to roughly 3 inches width that I'll fix to the top side of the enclosure channel and the door. It should fold into a U shape and fit the gap between the door and cap when closed, and then when open should cover the length of the gap. Some adhiesive promotor and good 3M tape and I don't think it'll go anywhere.

TBF, when it's windy you're going to have to stake down anything, whether it be a freestanding vehicle mounted awning or a moonshade.

Absolutely

TBF, bedding in the tent is a must have. I camped with an iKamper a couple years back during the winter and it was a royal PITA moving all of our bedding back and forth between the back seat and the tent, while our friends with the AluCab were able to leave everything in theirs.
Roof top tents like the GoFast, Alucab, etc. and other wedge type designs have the advantage of not having a floor to fold into itself. The floor is why canti-lever tents are so difficult to fit bedding into, and whether or not you can largely depends on the pivot point of the hinge. Some tents the pivot point is high enough that theres a gap between the two floor halves, but I just looked at some of the footage and the floor pieces of this tent are tight up against eachother when closed, so theres no room to keep bedding in there when closed. However, with this being a passthrough floor, you could have bedding stored in the bed and just toss it up once everything is open. This is what I'll probably end up doing so I'm not going back and forth to the cab for everything. I plan to eventually build the truck bed into a living space of sorts and take full advantage of the pass through design.

I'll get some measurements posted.

You're comment about not able to mount an awning;
Things to keep in mind:
- No way to mount an awning. Not a huge deal for me since I seldom use them anyways. Looking at a Moonshade for the few times I do need one.

@813 Fabrication & Design has a adjustable mount for these types of tents (clamshell), and I was thinking you can mount the awning on TOP of the tent "on its back" and rotate the mount into place. Just a thought....

Adjustable mount at 813

Adjustable mount at 813
I talked about this in my video. You could, in theory, use a mount like the 813fab one and mount it on top of the crossbars. I had designed my own mount similar to 813s for my old setup.

The negative I see to this:
When stowed your awning is going to stick up over your truck. Most folks I've talked to that are interested in this type of setup are trying to keep overall height to a minimum, whether it be to fit in a garage or to get down trails with low clearance, so the awning being stored on top of the crossbars wouldn't work.

Sorry this took a minute;

Matress size is 83x50.
