Carplay and radio issues?

Recently started having a constant issue where music from my iphone won't play when connected to Carplay. My GPS apps like Waze and Google Maps work fine, but whenever I have music playing, it'll just stay on pause and when I hit play, no sound will come out and then will go back to pause within 2 seconds. I've disconnected my phone, tried different USB and USB-C cables, tried connecting via Bluetooth and still no sound and that constant switch back to pause.

The weird thing on top of this, I tried just playing regular FM radio and no sound was coming out either even when I disconnected my phone completely. My iphone is up to date and the only recent thing I changed using Jscan was changing my halogens to led setting. Other than that, nothing else.

The only fix was to turn off the car completely. And let everything reset after 10 minutes, then it'll come back on. At times while driving, it would do this and it's frustrating cause no sound is coming out and I cant stop the vehicle and wait 10 mins.

Anyone else having a similar issue?

I think it's just an issue with the background UConnect software. I've had this issue with both iphones and androids. I'm currently running an Iphone15 Pro. With Pandora, I have to switch pandara playlists for it to almost like reset. I'm pretty certain there are no issues with the cable and/or phone. I've had this issue with official iphone cables that came with the phone.

I apologize for not providing a solution but Uconnect is hot garbage in my opinion.

same issue with carplay, but nothing else. music will start playing, then just pauses and music will refuse to play while connected to carplay, nor can i get the phone to pair via bluetooth. The only fix i have found is a full turn off/restart of the jeep.

Sad to hear this issue is plaguing others but a relief that it's not an isolated incident with my gladiator. I agree, the Uconnect software sucks, wish they would figure something out cause it's annoying to have to drive 1.5-2 hours to work and not have anything playing or not being able to see GPS on the screen.

Is your Jeep radio current on updates? Have you tried using BT to connect the phone to the radio as a media but with CarPlay. What year Jeep, size radio?

I have an 8.4, using a BT dongle to connect my iPhone for CarPlay to the radio head. Sometimes it works good, sometime not so much. need to fiddle with it. When all else fails, I just connect it to Uverse via BT and things work.
