Cell phone mount

I like the one mounted to the passenger grab bar that doubles as a cup holder (although realistically it barely holds a can of coke). I also had one for my Wrangler. I hate magnets. And this of is out of the way. I use uconnect, so the visibility isn’t an issue. It also keeps the cord out of the way.

I have been looking around on line for a cell phone mount and I keep seeing the bullet point mountain solutions being thrown out there. It is pricy I was just wondering if anyone has experience with this or others that they use every day and would maybe want to endorse/recommend. I need one that will take a little bigger phone case.

I've been using Vector's rail system with 20mm balls and 67 Designs holders. The install went pretty easy, and will probably go easy for you if you tilt the windshield forward.

It'll give me more room to slide things around if I add more items, including a ball for the passenger princess if she wants to put her phone up there, or if I want to point the tablet toward her for navigation.

My vote is for the Bulletpoint and Vector E-dock. Bulletpoint may seem expensive but they came in the cheaper than the direct competitor of 67 designs. I believe they are really comparable now but I went with the bulletpoint over 67 because of the logo (and at the time, the price). I love the look of the vector e-dock and had one on my previous Wrangler.

They do make a cordless charger but we use the cords interchangeably with multiple family members (wife and kids) and want them to reach back seats at times. To each their own.

I actually have dash bars. They go the entire length of the dash to place my devices which means I don't have to have my devices right in the center in front of the radio. Ram mounts work with. So I can go on amazon and order any different type of mount I want. I have a dash bar in both our JT and JK. I even have a overhead bar in both the JT and JK that I can also mount any device I want to them.

I currently only have a phone mount, handheld mount, and camera mount on my dash bar. I've had them installed for over three years now with no issues at all and they've held up to everything that I do which includes rock crawling.

I decided to mount my CB (President Bill) on the dash and really the one that fit the bill for this. So I broke down, dug deeply, and bought one. And man am I pleasantly surprised. The quality of this thing is outstanding! It is also heavy, which means it is stout. Even the packaging is of high quality!
This thing is going to be rock solid. I'll use both of the factory screws, the optional self tapping screws, and the 3M tape. With all the gear I'll hang on this thing, I have no doubt it will handle it on the toughest of trails.

I went with the dash mount one from Offroam. I got the MagSafe compatible one for the iPhone. I have been happy with it.

The new design of thee Bulletpoint system is a Picatinny rail. Tons of mounting possibilities and absolute top quality. I could have saved a lot of money if I had started with Bulletpoint.

I originally had a Bulletpoint connector that replaced the center bolt in my front center Freedom top latch. It kept my phone out of the way for most things, except the cord which hung down. In the last few weeks I managed to pick up a Bulletpoint Picatinny Rail that came with 4 20mm ball mounts for $40 on Marketplace and bought a second XL phone holder and 7mm arm to round out for both driver and passenger Galaxy S26 Ultras.

The top connector wasnt bad, but did block the leftish side of my rearview mirror while it was up. If I pushed it all the way back and out of the way to clear the mirror, I couldn't use my sun visor.

The Picatinny Rail is highly useful and still allows me access to all of my dash and keeps the electronics out of the visual way of things. Secondly, a lot of companies make picatinny-rail style attachments for various things, not just Bulletpoint. So, you can mix/match when needed. The little "F-it" tool that Bulletpoint gives you with these systems is also a neat addition for being able to REALLY crank down the ball/joint connectors to assure your stuff doesn't move, even with serious vertical movement.

If I had chose another mounting system for its reliability, I would have gone the route of the full-dash bar system from Anvil Overland.

Both are about the same amount of cost per system, depending on what electronics you plan to use them with.

Both are well engineered and good options.

And he's right. This is one of those things that I wouldn't cheap out on. Buy once, Cry once.
