Hello, I currently have the clutch pack LSD in my rear diff. I want to swap out to the Eaton helical LSD carrier. Not interested in a selectable in the rear. If I am keeping my same 4.10 (not looking to re-gear either) gears is this just a simple carrier swap or will I need to do the whole process of readjusting the gear set. I can handle the DIY of the carrier swap but I have never done gears and have heard too many stories of this going bad.

Do they make a TrueTrac for the Advantek axles?

You’ll have to check backlash before and set it again after you put a new diff in.

If replacing carriers then you will need to reshim aka adjust the carrier to the right pattern. You can't just unbolt and slap a new one in without set up.

You will need to measure backlash and total turning torque before disassembly. With these measurements you can set backlash to the same measurement as before disassembly, and carrier bearing preload. Both are important, backlash can affect gear life and noise, and bearing preload affects bearing life and can cause noise if not correct.

I don’t think Eaton makes a TrueTrac for the Dana Advantek axles. At least not yet. I looked and couldn’t find anything.

Backlash can be slightly different at different spots on the ring gear, and when it mates with different pinion gear teeth. I would mark the pinion flange outside to index the pinion gear, and then check back lash several places around the ring to get the same measurements with the new carrier. This will minimize the chance for noisy operation. There is usually a little runout at the ring mounting surface of a carrier, making it a compromise to get the new carrier the closest. You could mark the ring vs. carrier and then check the runout with the ring removed. Put in the new carrier bare, and find the high or low spot on it to get it the closest to original.
