Changing One-Touch 'Winker' Signal Duration

The easiest way to increase the blinks is to hold the turn signal lever against the "latch" but not engage it. When you feel like the blinks are plenty release lever.
Gotta make the turn signal switch last longer too.

I was hoping it was more substantial....I hate blanket AI. If it includes links/references then it's not so bad, but you just can't take it at face value by itself.

AI or not, it's correct. there is no line in the BCM settings that allows for such a change. I've got the logs of settings saved as text file. It's built in, not a configurable setting, not even listed in the software at all.

IT doesn't matter in tow mode or not, it doesn't change on Jeep.

I've never owned a vehicle that allowed a change for the number of light cycles - in tow mode it was 5, otherwise it was three - Ford, Chevy or Jeep. And it's not listed in the BCM as a line item, so can't be changed..
It must be listed and as configurable, otherwise there's no way to change it.

I just wink it twice, once when I’m getting ready to change, check my blind spot, wink again and go.

The easiest way to increase the blinks is to hold the turn signal lever against the "latch" but not engage it. When you feel like the blinks are plenty release lever.
Gotta make the turn signal switch last longer too.

AI or not, it's correct. there is no line in the BCM settings that allows for such a change. I've got the logs of settings saved as text file. It's built in, not a configurable setting, not even listed in the software at all.

IT doesn't matter in tow mode or not, it doesn't change on Jeep.

I've never owned a vehicle that allowed a change for the number of light cycles - in tow mode it was 5, otherwise it was three - Ford, Chevy or Jeep. And it's not listed in the BCM as a line item, so can't be changed..
It must be listed and as configurable, otherwise there's no way to change it.

Sounds like something Z Automotive COULD add to the live functions if there was enough demand for it.

You guys are excellent trolls. I can't believe this has gone on for 3 pages.

Since blinker fluid doesn't exist, blinkers don't exist, so there's no reason - nor capability - to signal a lane change or turn in a vehicle. That's why we have hand signals. And why the push to electric windows - crank windows were giving RSI and various shoulder injuries to those of us advancing in age. And of course, Jeep's removable doors.

Where did you get this info? Might be useful for me to dive deeper.

At the end of the day, you just need to simulate holding the turn stalk a little longer, so even if it's not programmable I do wonder if putting a time-delay relay on the left and right signal wires might be possible.

It’s not like people let you over anyway, blinker or not. I got flipped off the other day when a lane was ending and I put on my signal way ahead of time.

Like the IHP troopers said in a video a while back - if someone slows or moves to let you into a lane, it's a courtesy and should never be expected. Assume they cannot for some reason, and you adjust your own speed up or down to fit in. Don't expect others to do it because they are not required to.

People here do not know how to merge. And you can't always move over.

I'll never forget a story my father told me years ago when he commuted to work from home - car pooled.
One day he was in the front seat next to the guy who was driving that day and the fellow was wanting to get onto I35/80 on the NW side of Des Moines - a heavy heavy traffic area (at least for Iowa, but not compared to Atlanta).
The guy came up the ramp and was getting pissed at the drivers on I35/80.
He pushed his way in, refusing to do a nice merge.
Dad said "you know what that yellow sign back there was?"
"Yeah, they are supposed to yield to me when I want in" and the dope was serious!
No, you yield to all other traffic. They don't have to nor should anyone else be expected to move over. It's polite, but when a lane ends or you are merging into highway traffic, it's up to you to adjust your speed and whatever is needed to fit in.
