I just tap it, then yank the steering over so my lane change is complete by the 3rd blink. I'm guessing that's what they want you to do, the wife tho, the screaming can get quite loud. She's the indicator the lane change is complete and successful. :CWL: :LOL:
I do the same. Ensure that it's cleared first. Letting them know that I'm changing into their lane, not asking for permission.

For the last 30 years or so, I just had to engage the turn signal fully, didn’t have the feature of just a few blinks. That still works.

This winker mode is like just the tip. Never lasts long and it’s better to just go all the way.

My last two trucks, both Colorados a 2016 and 2019, with the tow/haul mode button, if you pushed the button to activate tow haul, the signal would blink 6 times, or regular 3 times. Great when towing. But I’ve found no way of changing in my Gladiator, but it has no tow package or hitch. Just the 4/7 light plug.
Tow package models don’t do it either. I too liked that feature on my 2017 Canyon.

I have never been able to find anything to change this feature and I have looked high and low.

While the AlfaOBD tool is commonly used to adjust lighting settings, the ability to change the number of lane change turn signal flashes (the "comfort blink" setting) is not a configurable option in the current software for many supported vehicles, such as Ram trucks. This is generally a fixed setting within the vehicle's Body Control Unit (BCU) or Steering Column Control Module (SCCM).
The number of flashes is typically fixed at three and cannot be altered using AlfaOBD or even dealer tools. Users on various forums have discussed this limitation, confirming that the setting for the number of flashes is not exposed as a user-adjustable parameter in the software for their vehicles.
Where did you get this info? Might be useful for me to dive deeper.

At the end of the day, you just need to simulate holding the turn stalk a little longer, so even if it's not programmable I do wonder if putting a time-delay relay on the left and right signal wires might be possible.

I was hoping it was more substantial....I hate blanket AI. If it includes links/references then it's not so bad, but you just can't take it at face value by itself.
I play around with Chat GPT often to get some blanket summaries on things, but I usually back it with my own research.

I was at work asking it about floor scrubbers while I had the manufacturers web page open and I could tell it was incorrect / lying about the specifications and cleaning time.

So I asked if it was intentionally sandbagging the numbers because it's not correct, to which it replied yes and gave me some BS about why. I asked it to rework my question with the correct data and it asked me to provide the specs.

I said nope, not happening. You said you sandbagged the numbers, that implies that you also know the correct ones - so run the numbers again without sandbagging.

The next bit of math it provided appeared to be more accurate, without trying to remove anything.

It's a useful tool - but to your point you need to examine the results, at least if doing anything remotely serious with the information.

I still wanna know where "winker" came from. Is it because they are called "one touch blinkers"? One sounds like "won"? If thats the case, shouldn't they be called "oinkers"?

I’m curious, I have no tow package and never intend to with my 2024 Sport S, we use for enjoyable travel and just running around in such a unique vehicle. I do have the 4/7 trailer plug, but no hitch. I’m still wondering if when you’re plugged into a trailer, with a brake controller installed with everything wired up, it the change comes automatically, like if the computer realizes there’s a trailer hooked up and like shift points and other parameters that change when you actually push a tow haul button like in my last Chevy Colorado, the number of blinks changes?

I have driven all types of wheeled vehicles, 2-36 all over the Beautiful Country and come to an educated opinion that there are bad, inconsiderate drivers all over the place. The worst being NJ, NY BMW drivers being the most assgresive. With sadly only half actually use that lever to the left of the steering wheel, the turn signals at all. Or their mirrors, especially when merging. This Jeep I have this time has a fantastic feature called ACC adaptive cruise control, that I can set 2-6 car lengths or so between me and the car in front, that matches their speed very accurately. BUT I don’t use any but the closest setting of 2, because if I leave any more it just leaves too much room, that allows more less aggressive drivers to fit in!!!

No question. For me having been in Florida for 19 years, that’s where I learned blinkers were just alerts to prevent you from changing lanes. But it happens everywhere.
