Check engine light and exhaust

I bough my gladiator new. I have 6100 miles. No mods and never been off-road. Never had any issues. Today I drove my gladiator for about 4 hours off and on. On the way back to my house I noticed a strong exhaust smell coming into the cabin. As I approached a red light about 5 mins from my place, the idling was off and rough. The exhaust smell was very strong. I pulled into my driveway and all symptoms still the same. The check engine light comes on. I open the hood and don’t see anything wrong. The exhaust smell is really strong, seems like it’s more in the cabin then under the hood. I checked the gas cap and filled it up with premium gas afterwards. I cant even drive the thing it smells like exhaust so badly inside and around the damn thing.

any ideas what it could be? Jeep cares is having it towed to the dealer Monday morning

Only thing I can think of is either you knocked off a clamp joint or busted an O2 sensor. Crawl under and see if anything looks off.

What was the issue with your JT? Mine seems to exhibit similar symptoms with a whole 55 miles on the odometer.

idle timing was off. Blew a valve and O2 sensor. Replaced under warranty. Seems fine now

@Kimdrakula what CEL did it throw? Seem to be having similar issue with 1200 miles.
