That would be great if in a service bulletin! I always get gas from same high quality station, park in closed garage, never had any service. I would expect gas cap to be an evap leak code.

Light went off, remote start working, code still in memory. I no longer feel pressed to get dealer to check it out. Still very strange.

I called the dealer.
They said "Diagnose time is not covered under warrantee and I will be responsible for all FEES not covered under warrantee."

It any of that true?

I’ve been told the same before. I guess it makes sense though. I’d still have them look at the code since it’s still stored in the memory. That IS a warranty issue. Your engine shouldn’t be misfiring. Or you can have them document that you checked in with them regarding the issue so they don’t screw you later on if/when real warranty repairs occur.

The engine will probably require a few successful engine/drive cycles before clearing it.

I'd find a different dealer. Unless you're in there every day with something silly, or complaining about something you broke yourself, diagnoses should be covered under warranty.

Simply expressing concern about a perceived malfunction of a brand new vehicle is a warranty issue in both my opinion and experience.

Wait, what? If your car is under warranty all of the parts and labor are covered unless we are talking mods or misuse. It is a PARTS and LABOR warranty.

I think what they really mean is...If they go in and don't find anything to warranty they may charge you. Most dealerships I've been to say the diagnostic fee will count toward the final bill.

Now that the light is off, they will likely have nothing to fix, if they cannot recreate the problem. If nothing to replace I’m out diagnostic fee, other fees (seen them charge an anti-microbial fee) and rental car.

My friends with Jeeps say take a half day off work, drive to next city, build that relationship. It’s that bad.

Perhaps time to learn about lemon laws, just in case.

Diagnostic time is covered under basic 3 year/36000 mile warranty, even if no problem found. Any dealer that says different is lying to you.

TSB 18-024-21 says to replace the right bank intake camshaft if there is a P0300 error. I don't know it covers all JTs or not, but I just had it done.

Thanks for TSB! Great to have.,jic. CEL is still off.

I also though dealer was mistaken but left message, clearly stating "Technically diagnose time is not covered under warrantee"

No e-mail from Jeep cares after the "case open" and the "how did we do".
