I took my brand new jeep up a dusty as hell road . Got home and inside the can was still factory fresh. Only dust is what gets blown around off the floor mats. I gotta say good job to jeep

At the risk of sounding like an idiot, make sure you order two. I recently changed mine ordering only one, only to realize after pulling the panel that it takes two stacked side by side. Mine were pretty dusty at 20k miles, see pic.

UPDATED: It appears to be diesel specific. The mopar parts site I grabbed it from shows it is engine specific but I had no idea at the time of order that I'd need two. I ordered before pulling the actual panel. Lesson learned hah.

Nice that the factory filters are carbon infused. New filter (still waiting on second) is dark gray and if compared to a pure white aftermarket filter, would appear disgustingly dirty but it isn’t.

My 2011 Sahara had the same two filter set up. I did look before ordering so that saved me time I suppose.
Did lose the top of a knuckle during replacement. Tight quarters back under there.

My '20 JTR turned 12K miles yesterday and I decided to change the air and cabin filters. Purchased Wix (which makes Mopar OEM filters). Took about 20 mins for both (and two beers) and boy am I glad I did it. The air filter wasn't to dirty, but needed changed, but the cabin filter, wow was it filthy! Spend the $50 bucks and do yourself and your Jeep a BIG favor. Adding filter P/Ns for reference.
Wix Filters
Air = WA 10841
Cabin = WP 10371
Oil = WL 10010

I never let a shop do shit that I can do. I went in for my first (free) oil change on my diesel at 4500 miles. They said I needed a cabin air filter for $30. I let them do it...

That seems to be very low mileage to be needing an oil change. Did your oil life indicator read in the single digits?

Guess I’m the exception, at 20k and just over one year both my engine and pollen filters were pretty damn clean. Replaced both with Wix from O’Reilly and they were identical to Mopar OEM.

I was at 34% but I had a 1000 mile round trip to AZ coming the following weekend so I decided to err on the side of caution. The oil life indicator seemed to be ticking down pretty quickly as well.

My Gladiator is starting to smell like a gym locker. Think it's time to change that cabin filter again.
