I use my truck as a daily driver, towing many things and my camper, off roading and rock crawling, family stuff, etc. Looking for the perfect blend of everything (if possible).

If you have experience with the coil springs from any of these brands…. Teraflex, Evo, or Metalcloak…..

-Ride quality?… (Soft, Hard, other.)

-Actual lift gained?… (Did they provide the height expected and was it level or raked.)

-Towing and actual truck usage?… (How’s the towing or load carrying ability; sagging or not.)

-Good in both On and Off road or just one?… (Do you actually Rock crawl or do more than just roads.)

-Anything helpful?

-Pictures are worth a thousand words…

I have the evo plush rides ...they said 2.5 inches but were about 1.5 inches taller. When laoded... they lost the inch quickly. Since I often rock crawl and such while loaded for trips... I exchanged them for evo 4.5 inch plush rides in the rear. These handle the weight much better when bouncing around in the rocks. In the third from the top picture I was loaded with about 650 lbs for a month long trip... with the 2.5 coils. They would rock and compress too quickly with a load on when rock crawling. The springs could not slow the roll. After that trip and 1000 miles offroad... I changed it up. The top two pictures and the bottom pictures are the 4.5 inch coils in the rear with about 400 lbs on... I have since put a good 450 in it and it settles a little bit but it still holds the weight way better coming off of ledges and such. The front is the 2.5 inch- I just put a 1 inch spacer in for now. It has a rake when empty but doesn't turn into a porpoise when loaded.

Wow! Nice flex and great picture! My Evo 6.5” coils did the same.
I’m wondering if you also installed the Evo control arms? I did and they’re great.

If your truck is a daily, with towing, and not a dedicated trail rig - I would suggest also looking at AEV. They are advertised more for daily and weekend warrior use, and have 2 spring weights to choose from.

I had stock arms still at the time these were all taken... I recently went with metal cloak full set of 8 arms.

I went with Synergy on the front. They handle all of the weight I have up front (a lot of weight) and the ride is fantastic. They are guaranteed to not "bow" and according to Synergy, the free length means the axle can drop a lot and not lose a spring. They are also dual rate and the bottoms are flat - meaning you remove the factory lower support and use their pad. With that design, it makes sense they guarantee them to now bow as the pressure should be the same or about the same all around the circumference of the spring instead of the spring being stronger on one side than the other.

Your ride quality has so many different things that take part other than just the springs but I have EVO 4.5" HD springs on a diesel.

I did not measure the lift height after install. It settled maybe .5” after a few weeks which I expected.

It rides very well but there are many factors in this other than the springs. Shocks, valving of shocks, control arms, geometry of your suspension, tires and psi. etc etc etc. I have a teraflex long arms, fox 2.5 dsc, rock jock sway bar f/r. It drives straight at 80mph with no hands on the wheel

I haven’t towed with it. I have put a RTT on my rack with camping gear. No noticeable sag.

I rock crawl and get plenty of flex. This is only limited by shock travel on my Jeep, not the spring. I have 12” travel shocks. Wheel travel is much higher as the wheel is outboard to the shock.

Drives great on road & crawls great. It doesn’t do so well at high speed offroading in rough terrain. Washboard and light offroad trails at speed is fine but bigger bumps eats it up. Like consistent 1-2’ bumps at speed which is more than most people want/need. Nothing against the spring though. I’m upgrading to a coilover/bypass in the front and a 3.0 bypass and keeping the coil spring in the rear to handle changing weights.

I would recommend EVO springs from my experience. I’ve heard great things about synergy springs for both on and off-road driving. I believe their lift is 3-3.5”. They didnt make a diesel specific spring in my lift height or I probably would’ve went with synergy.
