(My first post, as a jeep owner) I bought Durabak-18 Textured Truck Bed Liner in bright RED. It matched my trim colors and my dashboard. I think it helped the looks, and I know it's going to help protect the bed. My wife strongly suggested black, but I just couldn't bring myself to become a lemming. I've always had a vision on what accessories would look like before I put them on and I think I'm justified in RED. She relented because the color really wouldn't matter when I put the retractable tonneau cover on. 6 hours of sanding, tapping, cleaning and two coats of textured bed paint later, here it is.

I see you removed the outlet cover and front tie downs - did you just mask around the bed lights? You should probably remove those access panels now and touch them up so they don’t get ruined later when they need to come off to get to the camera or latch mechanism.
I’d be interested in what products you used for prep.

The more I look at your bed color the more I like it.
I was thinking of Red Molle Panels in the bed to throw some color in the mix as I have factory bedliner.

I like what you did, red wouldn’t go well with hydro blue though.
When doing a project on my JTM I thought the same thing that ā€œI Wonā€ā€¦. Come to find out they are masters at making us think that we won.

I couldn’t do red. My black liners always fade and I don’t want a pink bedliner. The UV protection only helps so much. I highly recommend covering the bed.

I tell you how lame I am. My debate was between the dull and shiny black liner. LOL. I went with the cheaper dull bc I have the cover on the bed anyway. It looks good!

Owning a Jeep is about making it your own! Now, if it was me, I would get Red Wheels to go with the Red Bed Liner, Red Hooks and Trim around the Jeep. If you're going to go for it go all the way!
Then if you want to be over the top get a 6 inch lift. White Shocks, Red Coil Springs and Red Skid Plates.

I wouldn't do the bed cover. Why put all that effort into the bed and then cover it up.

I did tape the lights instead of pulling them out. I also painted over the access panel on the tailgate. Didn't cross my mind that I now have a back-up camera I might need access to. I think a good sharp carpet cutter would go a long way in being able to open-em up. I used a handheld orbital sander, a block sander and Denatured alcohol for final clean-up, then painters Frog tape.

Not needing a 6" lift is the reason I went with a Jeep Rubicon. I'm 67 years old and my wife was having to use a step stool to get into my old truck with a 6" lift and 35's. (At least we were well off enough now that we bought the Jeep outright.) Already put the retractable cover on, I like to keep everything dry, however I do sometimes leave it opened up to startle people with the color! I miss the old pick-up but I love my new Gladiator even more!

Jeep Gladiator COLORED Truck bed coating, I love the color, wife was dead set against it, I won. (Actually, she allowed it) KIMG0751.JPG

Molle Panels and lights are my next purchase!

Looks like you have to drill holes for the bottom of the molle panels. Not me am never drilling a hole in a perfectly sound vehicle.
That is also why I do not and will never install paneled body armor. The Tub on the Gladiator and the bed is Steel and if ypu drill a hole in it how are you going to prevent it from rusting. Moisture will also make it to the interior of the panels etc.. uh not me ..just saying.

One can never have too much Rubicon Red.

If something is important to you,

never ask for permission.
She will not remember it later, anyway.
