I had a Sunrider that I went with first and I loved the flip back the roof option so much I decided to go full soft top. Found an almost new premium soft top from FB Marketplace. Put it on January last year and the hard top will probably never see the light of day again.

This thing is widely regarded as one of the most important first mods for every single Jeep, regardless of trim level. The only complaint I've ever seen is that the tiny clips that hold the spring cable onto the rails is really thin, and can break, which renders the entire top useless.

But, if you put it together as the instructions say and don't beat the hell out of it, it'll last for years.
If the z clips break, it is covered under warranty. Happened to me on one side and I even drove through rain and no leaks or anything.

Sunrider is a blast for me. The convenience to flip it back whenever I want is amazing.

And I know it doesn't take long at all to do the freedom panels and you can carry them in the bed, but hit a pop up rainstorm and even if you can get them back on in 60 seconds, your interior will be doused. Ask me how I know

Considering selling the hard top?

I put the Sunrider on last Friday and love it. I drove to Florida for the weekend and had it open for the last bit of the trip and then for most of the trip home on Sunday. I look forward to using it a lot this summer.

I ended up buying a used factory soft top from the classifieds. I just didn't like the other offerings and bestop seems to not support us with a full soft top.
I’ve considered this as well. What’s you take on how easy it is to open/close?

2 latches behind the visor then push. Literally 3 seconds.

Not much out there. Have the Suntop personally and I like it. Install isnt just throw the frame up there and ready to go but doesnt seem the factory one really is either. There is one other i have seen by rugged ridge which is a neat design that folds in the middle instead of flopping to the back.

Only thing I really dont care for is the suntop is a little loose and floppy in the middle at higher speeds with a poor designed removable support bar. I do like its half the price of the factory one and came in tan.
I got a Suntop soft top back in 2021 when they first came out. Took two weeks to ship from Italy. I sold it a couple weeks ago. I liked it I just wasn't using it. But like you, that support bar could use some redesigning. Seems like they could have sewn some type of tube in the soft top. And then you could push the bar through to hold the middle down. But the price is good though.

I had a Suntop full soft top. Got it when it first came out in 2021. Sold it a couple weeks ago. Nothing wrong with it, I just wasn't using it. There's a couple things that could benefit from a little redesign. But, it serves it's purpose and I had no problems with it.

Find a premium soft top off the Marketplace for under $1000.
<<THIS>>
Hands down this factory top (Premium not Vinyl) is the best material quality your going to find. Very durable, no issues whatsoever with rain or freezing. IMO its the only way to go, especially since you can get them on here for a huge discount....

It opens easily but not from the driver's seat. I have to be out on the step rail to fold it all the way back. Same with closing it. The lift assist shocks are what causes it to have to be outside to open it all the way.

I am happy with my decision though and will be putting it back on come springtime.

I like being able to pull the rear window and rear corners easily and the rear window stays tight.

I bought my gladiator intentionally with the soft top. My Willys came with the premium twill version and I really like it. You do get some baffling when behind a semi truck. My wife has a sunrider for her Wrangler JLU. We had an issue with the z-clip on the sunrider within the first couple weeks but they sent out a new one really quick. I'm not sure about anyone else with the sunrider, but the only negative I have is the 2 clamps that lock the top down aren't very tight. I think the sunrider is a little pricey for what it is but it's a bit more convenient to be able to open it when in the drivers seat.

Also on the factory top, you can remove the back window and rear pillar covers.

I vouch for both factory premium and sunrider.

Exactly. You can do it by yourself. I literally did it at a red light this morning. Popped the parking brake, undid latches, tossed the top back.

I love my soft top - was honestly the #1 "must have" for my Gladiator. That, and the manual transmission.

Also, I don't get the hate for the "man bun" look, by the way. Looks exactly the same as the Sunrider position IMO!

See, i just stand on the driver seat and fold it back. Don't even have to get out of the car.

I only have the premium soft top in Green Bay and it's my main winter vehicle. Wouldn't have it any other way and I probably wouldn't own this truck without it. I think the canvas helps break up the boxyness just a bit too with the styling. The ability to remove the back window and quarter panel pieces is great as well.
