I’m starting to regret my decision to go with the Core TB. I’m running a stock height Mojave and went with the Core for a variety of reasons. Unfortunately I have run into two issues over the first few months after I installed it.

First (my fault for not reading the fine print on Steer Smarts page), the TB was crushing the pitman arm nut provided with their stabilizing brace. I corrected this by removing the sector shaft part of the brace while retaining the gear box bracket. See photos.

Second, I’m now noticing the TB is contacting the OEM diff cover. This TB is stated to work with 0” lift and I assumed it would be well within parameters on a Mojave which sits 1” higher off the lot than the JTR. Nope. I’m frustrated because it’s an investment and now I’m debating a solution..

Replace TB? If so, which manufacturer?

The factory height and 37’s with the Falcon 3.3’s is perfect for my usage. That being said, should I just lift it another 1”?

thoughts?

It's probably your steering stops actually. They are variable and you most likely just have a bit more steering angle than the one they measured on.

The metalcloak differential skid is the reason I went with the metalcloak track bar it gave the most clearance for the the differential cover

I really like MC. I have their diff skids (as seen in the photo) along with their rear sway bar reinforcement brackets. I actually contacted them about their TB prior to going with Core. They stated I’d require a min 2” lift in order to use their TB.

I have a Rubicon with no lift and haven’t had any problems. Unless they changed design since 2020?

This happens somewhat often with aftermarket track bars, more often at stock or lower lift height. Why wasn’t the stock one good enough if you’re at stock height?

Valid question. I run my trucks pretty hard when off road and tend to overbuild my vehicles. This is my first Jeep (Toyota builder for years). I am usually running unfinished trails, logging roads, etc. in the backcountry, not much dedicated “crawling”. That being said, I swap out components as they start to wear. My Mojave has had the steering replaced including drag link, tie rod, ball joints, track bars, etc. I like the peace of mind that comes with overbuilding components as they start to wear. I pulled my Fox bypass shocks at 40k and sent them in for a rebuild, replaced with Falcon 3.3.

The Mojave sits factory at a pretty decent ride height, especially on 37’s (no clearance issues through Mickey T MT, or KO2 tires). I am considering a game changer lift at some point but really want to keep the CG low.

Plus the Jeep drives incredibly well now. Might seem like a waste of money but this is coming from the guy that carried replacement cv axles into the backcountry with my Toyotas. Mitigate the risk of breakdown with stronger components. ??‍♂

Why wouldn’t the MC bar work on no lift?
I have a 2.5” lift and started with a Rock Crawler TB that was sturdy. Apparently that was an old version and there is a newer version. My version didn’t have much of a bend and when I relocated my steering stabilizer I couldn’t get everything to fit.
I swapped to the MC track bar which has a big curvature to it and works well now, BUT it wasn’t fun grinding out the axle bracket so the bar would fit.

Maybe you can keep your Core track bar if you extend your bump stops. But not what I, or probably you, would want to do. I think you’re going to need a different track bar unfortunately.

Contact seems super minimal, and pretty specific scenarios- hard passenger and full stuff on the drivers tire…. ??‍♂?

Had to grind the same bracket for the Core TB. Not fun with a carbide burr on the die grinder while laying under the truck ?
