You have 5 years to get the repairs completed.

If the Jeep body shop is backed up 6-12 months like Yark in Toledo, OH, you may have trouble getting warranty coverage.

Wanted to make people aware of this. I wrongfully thought if the repair process was started before the warranty expired, it would be covered under warranty. That is not the case.

The original purchase date is the start of the 5 year unlimited corrosion warranty on my 2020. It has a late 2019 build date. I was the original owner as of Dec 2020. Dec 2020 is when the corrosion warranty began. I had my corrosion warranty documented before the corrosion warranty expired. I had the corrosion repair work completed 5 months after the warranty had expired due to incompetence or lack of communication at my dealer.

The only thing that matters is the original "in service" date. And documentation of corrosion.

It is worth your time to pursue it further. Although the 5 year window is past for you, there’s still money on the table. My dealership explained that in their experience, it’s not all-or-nothing. They had experiences where stellantis made partial payments and the customer also made payments, but nowhere near the full price. If you can prove your dealership was delayed in helping you, I think you should pursue it

I was told by the Jeep body shop and by Jeep (877-426-5337) that the repair must be completed before the warranty expires.

I questioned if documenting the corrosion was enough for coverage and was told no.

I will pursue this further.

My experience with my dealership was unbelievable. The opposite of every horror story I ever read here. He had verbal authorization for full coverage within 15 mins and a $0.00 invoice in my hand within an hour. Full coverage on alternate transportation for the duration of repair, which took 14 days. 10 hinges, hood, doors, tailgate. My experience leads me to believe that it has more to do with the quality of the person who is submitting the RO to stellantis, than “corporate” who we like to blame. Sample size of one tho. Best of luck friend

This was not my case. I had the corrosion documented. The could not do the repair work at that time and told me to come back in a month. When I returned to have to work done, I found that the dealer dropped the ball and never submitted for Jeeps approval. I was still within the 5 year window. After another month of waiting, I stopped by the dealership and they said they were still waiting for Jeep. I told them I only had a few more days of warranty left. They told me that I have a work order number. Working behind the scene was JeepCares. I had a case number with them the whole time documenting the communication and non-progress. Eventually the work was done 5000 miles and almost 6 months later.

You may need to bypass the dealership and do your own negotiations with Stellantis.

I thought Yark would take care of me since I bought it new from them.

Looks like I'll have to go to another dealer.

@JeepCares , can you help?

I'd like to get the corrosion documented and have this repaired under warranty.

I’m in the process of this as well. Getting all the hinges replaced, hood, and bottom of the doors fixed. My dealership has made the process super easy, I have 4 Jeeps in front of me getting repaired. I have 9 months left on the corrosion warranty. They also told me it had to be done before the warranty expires even with it being documented.

In addition the paint on my rocker panels has cracked in a couple spots. Since it’s cracked and not corroded, they put it in for like a 50-50 repair and I have to pay like 250 or something for them to fix it. Jeep is paying the other half. Factory warranty is up.

Took my truck in 4 days ago to get them started on the work as the 5 year is up in June. I asked them specifically if this was an issue and they said no as long as the issue was documented and paper work had been started.

This is illegal! If you have paperwork started for the repair process, and every dealer withing reasonable distance is backed up PAST the warranty expiration date, they CANNOT revoke the coverage. The dealer was made aware of an issue while under warranty. You did your diligence to get the defect repair by the dealer and they acknowledged the issues by creating a repair ticket/work order. This admits fault to the dealer/manufacturer. Just because the dealer(s) are understaffed, doesn't mean the manufacturer can violate their own warranty terms to to negligence on the company's behalf. YOU HAVE REASONABLE EXPECTATION TO HAVE YOUR CONTRACT HONORED AND WARRANTY VAILIDATED FOR REPAIRS MADE WHILE UNDER WARRANTY.

REASONABLE EXPECTATIONS.

The courts would find that is is "unreasonable to expect a reasonable person to assume that while under warranty, they cannot get a repair made due to negligence of a company to perform the repair within a REASONABLE time frame". Just like police are require to have REASONABLE SUSPICION to ask for ID when you haven't broken a law, businesses are required to provide REASONABLE EXPECTATIONS for warranty repairs.

Don't let a shady manager lie to you and convince you that your warranty hold no value, and neither do you.

Also there's a FEDERAL Warranty Law called: The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
- This actually supersedes any manufacturer warranty coverage. It's extremely useful when a manufacturer tried to play exactly what the others here have reported. I've also had a dealer try this crap, and I know better.

Know your rights, know the laws regarding your rights, fight for your rights, NEVER BACK DOWN AND DON'T TREAD ON ME!

THIS IS AMERICA, we left unjust taxation without representation. Start acting like it and stand your ground. Or did you forget what we fought for?

Good luck! I had my hinges replaced but would not replace the hood or door skins just repaint that was a couple months ago. They wouldn’t give me a loaner because I didn’t buy my jeep from them (my dealer I purchased from is an hour away this dealer is 5min). I just looked yesterday I have a spot on my drivers door already. I’m going back to my original dealer in the next couple weeks to see if they will fix the issue even though I think the corrosion repair is only once under warranty. It was done correctly.
