Finally got around to doing the back half of the installation.

It was quite awkward trying to get everything ready to install using the spray adhesive. I taped the top and dry fit the headliner several times. The headliner needed some trimming around the plastic cover for the rear defrost wiring and the foam blocks near the front of the top.

I sprayed the roof first and fit it before moving to the vertical section near the back window and C pillar. Ran into an alignment issue when I realized the rubber bumpers were off by about 1/2 an inch. Pulled it up and repositioned and it fit almost perfectly. The vertical portions went on pretty well but two sets of hands definitely helped.

I had to re-spray some of the edges to ensure a firm fit. I will definitely need to shave some of the extra material around the edges. I also need to put the edge trim banding on.

I meant to take more pictures of the process but was running short on time for other family obligations. Here’s a few.

Since this upgrade is on my list, and I have read through most of this post. I'm not sure if I am spraying or double sided tape. I also found this video which at least suggest I am not using 3M, but most likely LLPT tape. I am sure there are other, just sharing as it was helpful.

Finally finished my install yesterday (I did the freedom panels last fall) Questions answered.

1) anyone know the part number for the rubber bumpers? Busted one trying to reinstall - looks like this is part no. 68005011AB

2) I still have a vibration coming from the back window area, is this that plastic panel rattling? Or is this just the window insert rattling - this is resolved, the sliding window was the cause

Received the topliner and kilmat today (80 mil for those interested) and got the front freedom panels done. Straightforward aside from figuring out which adhesive strips go where, and fairly tedious if you want it 100% perfect. I really like the topliner though, much better than the all white panels which are pretty jarring when I switch from my black SunRider in the summer months to white freedom panels in the winter. The kilmat/carpet combo definitely makes more of a "thud" when you hit it compared to without, so hopefully it does a decent job of deadening some road noise.

Going to do the rear top tomorrow. Below are some pics of how I arranged my kilmat and adhesive strips.

Edit: added a couple pics of the rear cap carpeting, which definitely took me a bit longer du to it all being one sewn assembly. I actually ended up just cutting the stitching that holds the small portion of carpeting at the base of the rear window which made it MUCH easier to get the rear corner sections put into place.

I absolutely wish CoverKing would provide extra adhesive strips so that you can button up certain areas that may pucker on you a bit. The fitment is close but not 100% and does require some trimming using a utility blade. But all in all, I'm happy with it, and was worth the cost and effort to install.

any issues with your XM radio/Gps with the Kilmat? I can't tell from your pic if you left an area or not.

I have the base radio (No GPS) before before they added the standard LTE connection in later years (So no cell issues either), and don't use XM. So, there may be issues, but not for my use cases.

Tempted to try the spray adhesive route but it does look like a lot of prep vs just getting extra double sided tape.

It may be. However, I have no issues with sagging or separation.

I wiped with 91% alcohol and sprayed my headliner. That was last year. It made it through a brutal summer here in Deep South Texas. Still kicking.

Did you spray just in the areas where the tape would normally go or did you do a combo of both?

I sprayed it everywhere the headliner was gonna touch. Being careful with the edges to make sure I didn’t get any on the exterior surfaces. For the freedom panels I went through the trouble of adding killmat and I sprayed over that too.

Thanks! I definitely will be adding kilmat to everything it's gotta help with sound and might as well. I might try the spray route.

Which spray did you use if you remember?

Appreciate it! Last question I promise I read again what you typed. Did you spray on the underside of the CK cover and also the hard top?
Yes I sprayed both the top and the headliner and waited a couple minutes for it to get tacky. Then I laid it on and pressed it down all over. If that makes sense. Haha

Sure does. Thank you very much for the info. Might go this route. I used that exact spray on an application to cover some wood with felt fabric and its held up great.
