I've got a beat up Silverado that's on it's last legs. I'm currently leasing a Willy's and I was thinking of pulling the trigger on the current lease offer on the Gladiator Sport for $249. I'm having trouble finding just what's in this 24B package. Honestly, if it's got AC/Heat and radio and good to go. I really don't need much more than that.

How much are they asking down, and how long is the lease? Also, how many miles per year are you 'allowed'? I used to lease, but found that I went over the allowed mileage every time, so I only purchase now (but still get a new vehicle every coupla years).

Well I'm not normally a lease option guy, but if it's in line for your needs. Mileage time of turn in, deals and what not or option to buy trade and possibly tax (business / work use) right off. Go for it, if the dealership would have listened back in June / July 2019. I would have leased with option to buy at end of lease. But that is water under the bridge for me now.
I wouldn't be able to stay within the mileage for 3 year lease, I'd burn though it in year to a year n half. Let alone at the end of the lease agreement you still don't own nothing.
I think of leasing a vehicle as a business type of vehicle user that can be a tax expense write off. Many years back I knew of company's leasing vehicles or people that have to have a ego stroking of new vehicle every year and don't drive / use them much...
I started thinking about how a buddy of mine, He didn't feel good went to an ER straight to ICU then died (RIP Will) I was planning on giving him a call just to say hello and how are you doing that day. I'm within 7-9 year time frame of what my father was when he died so that changed my perspective on waiting for and not having what I wanted then. That was June 2019. So I'm not sure what way or thing is best, but none of us are know when and what is the right always or anytime.

Probably this offer:
$249mo for 36mos. $3,199 total due at signing, $0 security deposit required. Tax, title and license extra. Low-mileage lease for well qualified lessees. Based on MSRP example of $37,450.00 with 24B package after all applicable offers. Total due at lease signing includes a down payment and first month's payment. Offer requires dealer contribution. Tax, title & license extra. Lessee pays for excess wear and mileage of $0.25/mile for each mile over 10,000 miles per year, if vehicle is returned at end of term. Option to buy at lease end at pre-negotiated price. Dealer's actual terms may vary. Offer through US Bank. Residency restrictions apply. Must take retail delivery by 01/04/2021. $395 disposition fee due at lease end.

Jedieb - if this is the lease offer you're considering, then it averages out to $338/month before tax/title/license/disposition fee is added in (over 36 months). As such, ask yourself if $338/mo. is worth it - I think it is.

The deal-breaker here for me is the cap on annual miles - I don't know what your commute is like, but as I posted earlier: mileage caps are why I stopped leasing years ago. Ever since APRs came down, I haven't seen an advantage to leasing in quite some time.

Also ask yourself if you plan on being 'done' at the end of the lease, or if you plan on purchasing - the next step after that is evaluating the "pre-negotiated price" referenced in the lease offer. Good luck!

I believe the 'B' in the 24B means it's a base sport, so no power windows/locks etc. It could have other options added though.

I couldn't seem to find exactly what was included in each of these as the options seemed to vary, but I think these codes just denote the model, then options are added on from there.

24B = Base Sport
24S = Sport S
24K = Willys (Sport S version)
24Q = 80th Anniversary Edition
24G = Overland
24N = High Altitude
24D = Mohave
24R = Rubicon
24Z = Launch Edition

I think the only one I couldn't find/verify was the Willys base sport

This is an area I have studied in depth.

I have done very detailed calculations.

Here are some rules of thumb I have generated:

1 - Silver standard on a lease is a payment of 1% of the MSRP with no down payment or fees of any kind. This offer meets that criteria. This is based on a 36, 39, or 42 month term with 12k miles. Obviously the details can make a difference. 0.8% would be the gold standard and represent only the beat lease lease deals.

2 - Leasing is way more profitable for the industry! And the buyer (you) is paying for it.

3 - If you compare two people. One who leases every 3 years vs a person who buys and keeps for 6 years, the buyer on the same 50k vehicle comes out $200 per month ahead. That’s the premium you are paying to drive two vehicles during that time period. That figure is also based on driving 12k per year. I also built in additional maintenance and extended warranty into the equation.

4 - The gap widens considerably if the buyer at year 7, 8 and 9 decides to keep the vehicle.

People tell themselves all the time “leasing is great” and it may be. But just admit that you are paying for it.

Man, that's tuff, for sure....a lot of heavy stuff to weigh.

But...when (and the emphasis is on "when," as Jeep dudes are men of action....so WHEN) you boil it down....don't be the old dude...on the shuffleboard court at The Villages....watching the young guys drive by....and wondering to yourself "now why didn't I ever do that?"

RIP, Will....I didnt know him, obviously--and I am very sorry for your loss--but I betcha a bottle of finest Kentucky hooch he'd agree with me.

You shouldn’t put anything down on a lease. If it gets totaled and paid off by insurance, you will lose that. Secondly, advertised leases can usually be beat by negotiating a discounted sales price, then finding a lease company (which still could be Chrysler Capital).

A dear friend recently told me.......... You can always check and see how much money you have. You can never check to see how much time you have left.

I have seen so much death and sudden tragic death in my career, I have always lived for today because tomorrow just isn’t guaranteed.

You still need to be able to afford it and still keep some for the future, but DO NOT just plan for the future and forget to enjoy now because you never know.

RIP to your friend you lost and prayers for all.

That's damn right. In the end...we're all gambling, really.

For now, I--and this is just "me"--will live responsibly, but while I'm here, my money is mine: I planning enjoying some of it.

You should, too. Seems $250 ain't a hell of a lot.

Check out leasehackr.com It's a forum specifically related to vehicle leasing. You might be able to do better than the nationally advertised deal, but Jeeps are not known to lease well.

Jeep Wranglers (and JTs) lease very well. Their residual value are one of the highest in the industry (only Toyota Tacoma and 4runner are better) Jeep’s other SUVs do not fare nearly as well.

The 24B is a Sport with a 3.6L and an 8-speed automatic (a $2,000 MSRP option). The lease will increase as you add options to that. You can look here to find that information: December Order Guide. The information starts on Page 2 for the Sport. Pages 3-8 cover the options for that vehicle.

The only way you can get a cheaper Gladiator is get a 23B with no options. That would be a White 3.6L 6-speed manual transmission.

East of the Mississippi, there is a dealership near Nashville, Gupton Motors which has excellent prices, one in Virginia that I've seen that can come close to Gupton, and one in North Carolina. Check out this thread:
