Anyone mount a dash cam to their JT that have the forward collision & adaptive cruise options ? Seems if you mount a dash cam under the huge sensor box, it will hinder your view. Also, how how difficult is it to route the wiring to the auxiliary switches ?

I’ve had one sitting in a box ready to install since Xmas. I was planning to mount mine on the passenger side of the huge sensor box so my vision is not hindered. I’m hoping to just run the power cord through the trim. Hoping to have time soon to knock it out. I’ll be sure to let you know on routing the wires.

I have a Thinkware U1000 4k dual camera system hardwired in.
I also have the forward collision & adaptive cruise option.
My front dashcam sits to the right of the adaptive sensors. I adjusted the camera angle so I still capture everything in front of the Jeep.

I installed my Thinkware 750 this weekend. I ended up putting it almost in the middle of the passenger side. My camera has a “Live View” you can do with your phone, and I had to put it there so the lens didn’t pick up the black border around the sensor block.

Wiring it to the aux switches was simple. The power cord is tucked inside the plastic trim, and then run down the passenger pillar and into the passenger footwell. I only want the camera running when the car is on, so the positive is connected to Aux Switch 4 (pink/blue, per the manual), and the negative is wired up to a bolt in the footwell. It’s worked out perfectly.

Keep in mind - the aux switches put out 12v, and some dash cams only use 5v (typically, these are the cameras with a USB plug that goes into a 12v socket).
