There was a time when some dealers used rivets to attach their logos, as Mazeppa pointed out (maybe there's some hold-overs who still do?) Way back, we ordered a Buick from one such dealer and stipulated that if they attempted to deliver it that way, we'd reject the car and would demand our deposit back. They did slap on their plate frame which was removed the minute we got the car home.

I've bought a car and a truck off the lot, one with a simple sticker that easily came off, the other with 3D block letters that had a randomly placed look -- like a child put them on. It also easily came off with a heat gun and cleaned up nicely with rubbing compound.

Most are put on these days with 3M tape or equiv.- heat gun and fishing leader and no more ad.
They didn't ship with the Truck so I don't want it.

Tell the dealer to remove them before you take it home.

I wouldn't have cared if it hadn't been obnoxious looking. I never bothered to remove any on my previous vehicles. Then again, they weren't Jeeps :P

I don't get the license plate holder thing. My family used to call those vanity plate holders. People would get gaudy looking ones that had chrome or gold colored plating. Never had one on a vehicle and never plan to add one.

The advertising thing never really made much sense to me. If someone is interested in my Jeep they'll either ask me directly or take to the internet on their own. Either way, I'm going to tell them to go to the dealer offering the best price, whoever that may be.

I mean how far back in time do we have to go where dealership logos were effective marketing? Pre internet of course, but even pre Yellow Pages.

A positive would be to add a derogatory descriptor after the logo If the dealership deserved it.

I like my dealership (Fury Motors of Stillwater MN) and I don't mind their badge. I'll take it off if I need the space but for now I'm fine. However, if I had purchased from this dealer I'm not sure I want the family jewels logo they use even today...

At least they don't drill two holes in your vehicle now like they used to in the old days for chrome metal dealer badges. You would then need body work to fix the holes, plus they were always a rust point.
Hey captain adama - have you figured out how to remove the corners from your profile pic? Just sayin - you need an 8 sided profile pic ?

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels like this... I HATE having free advertising on the back of my vehicles. Typically the very first thing I do when I get a vehicle is take them off.

The Jeep logo is advertising for the company jeep who made our Gladiators. Do any of us anti-advertisers remove them?

I dunno, I think it’s more like Foot Locker putting their logo on a pair of Nike.
The retailer isn’t relevant. The manufacturer is. Imagine if the shipping/transporter company also wanted to advertise on the product before it gets to the customer! ?

I've seen lots of Rams, Dodges, Nissans, etc with *all* badging removed or replaced. Not sure I've ever seen a de-badged Jeep.

This has always bothered me. Does it bother anyone else? Not just on Jeeps but all vehicles.
License plate frames are one thing, but a sticker or plaque on the vehicle? No thanks.
I was lucky enough to catch mine on the lot before they tramp stamped it. I informed them what I would charge them for advertising their dealership on the paint of my new Jeep. I thought my offer was reasonable.
$50/mo for the 15 years I plan on keeping it.
They declined my offer.
this stuff grinds my gears!

When i bought our 2019 pacifica i told the guy 3 times to NOT put any stickers on my van, they didn't. jeep dealership also listened and didn't brand Gladys.

My last 3 vehicles I made the dealer write in the contract no dealer stickers.

Twice they pulled the vehicles around with the decals on them. Both times they said "the prep guys always put them on... just pull it off if you don't want it". And I respond "you pull it off or you keep the vehicle". They then had the prep guys remove them.

I know its easy enough to remove them but I can't stand those cheap stickers.
its rude they didn't take the time to tell the prep guys not to sticker your expensive vehicle.

I'd be pissed if Lowes slapped a sticker on my Craftsman toolbox as I went through the checkout area, let alone a $40-50,000 purchase.

I broke out the wife's hair dryer as soon as I got mine home, and poof, they were gone.

The last two times I ordered a vehicle I had it written into the contract that no dealer logos would be on it and if they were on it I wouldn't take the vehicle and get my deposit back.

Worked like a charm.

Obviously the sales rep and contract people said it wasn't possibe---so I said fine I'll go to a different dealer. They brought my demand to the sales manager and both times he immediately said OK and put it in the contract.

Needless to say I realize that some dealerships would "forget" to tell the prep guys---but neither dealership of mine did so.

Plan on doing the same when I order my JTR OR JTM.
