In what context, criminal and/or civil?

Very few laymen can navigate either system successfully without a lawyer. The whole system from prosecutors, defense and judges are all lined with ring knocking lawyers that golf together on the weekends and attend each others personal events and functions. Part of getting a good lawyer is not just they know the law, but wield the behind the scenes influence of their fraternal trade.

Judges hate laymen that self represent no matter how smart they may be. It is an affront to their profession.
I was referring to civil, and not always, but usually.

More specifically, what I would consider small cases. Say $20k or less.

I did not think of small claims. That is different animal.

Joking aside, I have not had any mechanical, electrical or interior cosmetic issues at all.
That said, Im going through the paint issue. They will be replacing the doors and hood. They told me it will take a while as parts are on back order. I told them not to hurry. Do it next year if you want.

So I got this letter in the mail today out of the blue. I haven’t really had any problems with my 22 Overland and haven’t even had any warranty work done. Lawyers must be hungry ?? There must be a lot of complaints I guess , though ?

When I was a national customer service exec for a Jeep competitor I had to deal with these characters routinely, particularly in California and Florida. Frankly, if your product is like a planted field of technical corn stalks these farmers will come try to harvest the crop.

I have had warranty issues and had to stay on the service department continually to get things done. It’s not easy to get things done. One example is I keep calling the parts department to see if the new diesel fuel pump was in, they had it and did not schedule me. Then I had to call the service department to get it installed. It seemed to me the service department was amazed I knew the parts were there. There’s more like it took months to admit my battery’s were bad. They kept telling me the remote start does not work when it’s cold. I am in Florida. I had to leave it there several warm days and they admitted I was right. It took months to get a rear glass replaced. It’s like climbing over a barb wire fence to get things done.
l am happy with my Jeep and have no plans to get rid of it.
Things not handled promptly and satisfactory leave a hole for lawyers to creep in.

Ambulance chaser. This is the nicest Jeep I’ve ever had under Stellantis fortunately, we got the Eco diesel.

This is no surprise to me. My Jeep has spent 60+ days in the shop in just over 3 Years. Started from day 1 when they rolled it off the train and scratched the front fender. When I was driving it back to the dealership within the first couple days was when the "Front end Bottoming out" issue presented itself... Since then it has been :

Interior leather installed incorrectly, then reinstalled by the dealership incorrectly... Had to go directly to Katzkin to get it fixed.

Oil Leak from the turbo
Rear Diff Lock sensor failed, then was supposedly fixed, then failed then got fix again, maybe.
Complete DPF replacement
Wiring Harness melted causing a mid freeway shutdown.
CP4 Recall, nonsense
Some DPF Sensor failed a few months ago, and then another DPF sensor failed 2 weeks ago.
Unfixed steering column recall
3rd brake light LED failure

Rear Window just started leaking recently

I just found a bubble in the paint on my tailgate, and the dealership said they will need it for at least 4 weeks for that repair.

The icing... I have been able to get a loaner vehicle for 1 day of all the issues.

When I was at the dealer last week my service manager was like "How long are you going to keep this thing for" "You know this is going to keep happening right?"

I am glad that some of you guys have had zero issues... but I am just saying it doesn't surprise me that a class action is in the air.

Lawyers are the REASON they need one.
If it wasn't for lawyers on our side, we wouldn't have gotten that 5 year corrosion warranty extension and all would have been stuck with rusting trucks and no recourse. Even if you didn't participate in the proposed class action, you got to benefit from it.

I just took my truck in for an assessment a week before it's 5-year build date. I'm getting a new tailgate, hood, and three doors (really should be four doors, but the rust spot on the last one isn't on the outside where it's visible).

There is a corrosion warranty extension? I thought it was still the original 5 yr warranty my 2020 has had since new. That’s pretty much industry standard. Some are actually longer.
