Your lucky. I have to go north into Georgia as an alternative. 4k on mine. I’m not bitter. Just disappointed. I’ll likely sell it and get a Lexus if this persists… I’ll getting too old for this drama. šŸ˜‚
I certainly can’t blame you. Man, some of the horror stories on these forums….
I can’t do anything major on mine as cancer has zapped my strength, so I’m at the mercy of the dealer or an independent shop. But as mentioned I’m lucky to have plenty of choices.

Here’s a story about my first complimentary Jeep Cares oil change and tire rotation. At a dealer in South Central Florida. I made my appointment on line and showed up 20 minutes early. The building is only a couple years old, but a 40 minute drive away, but nice ride through the back roads. They were the only dealer offering $15-$17k off on Gladiators. Of all trim levels. So I had to wait just over an hour, after the service was finished I read over the notes on the printed service order. That mention 5w20 synthetic blend MOPAR Oil? I immediately questioned the service manager in his cubicle about what the owners manual says about 0w20 full synthetic oils are to be used? He looked at me like I was drunk! Then I handed him the service order to read. He immediately jumped up and said wait right here have a seat. He came back about 20 minutes later to apologize and then told me the technicians all knew exactly what oil to use, brought me out to the oil bay to show me the oil tanks and retractable hoses above an between each bay. All properly labeled with different colored handles for reg, blend an full synthetic oils used, in the exact weight, you could follow the lines to the tanks mounted against the wall, all looking brand new all branded MOPAR. He an the tech assured me that 0w20 full synthetic was used. But I’m the only customer who called them out on the information the computer printed out on the work sheet. Well I just signed expensive contract finance papers for about $36,000 without trade credit for this new Gladiator and kind of skeptical about what I’ve been showed. He could see that and told me he will have the oil changed again, and refilled with 5 sealed quart containers or Top of the line MOPAR full synthetic 0w20oil meeting or exceeding MOPAR standards. With me and him watching, the showed me what comes up on the computer that I noticed was wrong! Asked if I was satisfied and mentioned nothing about a survey. Later on after a few months and 5,000 miles I went back for the second oil change that was also complementary. They brought it right in and 20 minutes later the same service manager came out to find me and escorted me to my Gladiator all nice and cleaned with 35 psi in each tire, I lowered back to 32. I believe I will go back for all my services there! At Thunder JDRC!

40 mƬnutes there, 40 minutes back and 20 minutes to do the work. I'm still a big believer of putting my hands and eyes on it.

My brother told me that he only started an engine a few times before putting the oil in when he was working at Jiffy Lube. He also said it was okay because he caught it pretty quick. The light never came on, he could hear it tapping a bit before shutting it down. I just shook my head.

Those are the people working at Jiffy Lube. My brother also worked at a dealer, changing oil. They get it right, most of the time.

In my case it was a computer error that caused the entire issue.

I saw that. I find it hard to believe no one has ever brought it to their attention. And if they knew about it, why haven't they fixed the error. Suspect!

I just about refuse to go back to a dealer for anything. Unless it is warranty work. You have a better chance of seeing Big Foot or a Unicorn on your off-roading adventures than finding honest one. Find a good local shop unless you personally know the mechanic at the dealer.

Wife has a Lexus LC500. We bring it in, have a free breakfast… car comes back spotless and in spec.
My ass should have known better… šŸ˜‚

Same here with my wife's BMW. Flawless service, clean car, vacuumed and always on time. That's the reason we purchased her most recent one ('21) at the same dealership (Pembroke Pines FL). Even the service advisor is great (she has been with the company for 25 years) goes through all of the offers, coupons and available rebates. I used to go online and try to save 10 percent here and there with offers and incentives but she pulls up the same stuff and more. I let her do the work and I just go to the cafe and get a couple expressos from the machine if I am waiting. Or, when doing the full service thing at 30k miles, they gave me a loaner car which, as you would expect, was an upgraded vehicle (a loaded 5 series instead of our lowly 3 series) with all the bells and whistles.

All I can say is, they have their act together.

How’s the dependability? I know resale is bad/depreciation. Lease? Beautiful cars.

Dependability good. Depreciation, yes. That is why this time, I talked wife into getting one that had been leased. The dealer had hundreds. That's how they work, at least here. They would much prefer to lease new vehicles than sell them. That pretty much guarantees, unless the person buys it at the end of the lease, that they have a constant supply of well-maintained used vehicles. The dealers here have all of the specs on the vehicles on-line. You can see what is in stock or what is coming in. You see every service item in the history, when it was serviced, where, what was done, etc. etc. etc. It also reports on any damage repaired by any BMW shop in addition to the CarFax report. Ours only had 18k miles but they already had done the brake fluid flush, new Michelins and a bunch of other stuff. A new '24 was about 50k plus all the taxes and 1k dealer prep. We bought ours for 32k and it had leather and basically loaded. You could not tell it from new. Plus, as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle, they add a year bumper to bumper warranty from the factory. I told my wife, I would definitely do this again instead of taking the depreciation hit each year.

My JKU had the transmission replaced under warranty. 6 speed. When I went to pick it up, the front driveshaft wasn’t even connected to the front axle. It was hanging about 3ā€ above the pavement. If I hadn’t noticed it, it may have killed me.

I apologize if I went off topic with the BMW service. A comment was also made about Lexus service. Yes, it got off topic. But there does tend to be a lot of problems with Jeep dealership service. Let's just say that some brands appear to have better service.

I have problems with trusting the dealership service too. Part of it probably relates to the decreased sales of Jeep--at one local dealer and Jeep service has one rep that may or may not be in the shop. At another local dealer the Jeep service has been closed and they send you to the nearby Chrysler service department.

I do have about 6 Jeep dealers in the metro I could go to, but no real way to know if one is better than the other.

Funny how the experiences in different brands varies so much. With one brand the service manager would have me in there office, the technician might join us, and go over the car. The interesting aspect of this one was that the car was pretty much a disaster--repairs all the way from a defective A/C controller on day one up to a full engine replacement due to excessive oil consumption--but the trust was so high it did not bug me.

If something critical breaks I have no choice. But I have not reached the point where I trust them to carefully take the dash apart to track down a minor click in the HVAC (alas, it's not the easy to change blend door.
