Hello yall, planning on running the Rusty’s triangulated 4 link rear setup soon. Has anyone relocated the def tank into the bed? I’ve only seen one post where somebody relocated it into the spare tire mount area but have plans for that area for something else. Wondering if there’s enough slack in the lines, hoses, etc where anything wouldn’t need extended, just drilled through the bed and routed in there.

Can't help your def question as mine is a gasser, but why rustys over the rock krawler setup? Rustys looks like they relocate the upper arms back so far you end up with uppers that are way shorter than the lowers like the factory setup. The difference in length is what causes the terrible pinion angle changes throughout the suspension travel. Conversely the rock krawler uppers are ~10" longer than the stock ones which eliminated the pinion dive under compression.

Honestly undecided on Rusty’s vs rock Krawler, but from what I can see the Rusty’s kit instructions suggest 24 upper control arm length which should match the Lowers?

I was looking at their kit wrong from the pic I saw. It looked like their reinforcement moved the upper mounts rearward, but upon closer inspection it just reinforces the stock mount location so it should function the same as the RK kit.

See I saw that post too, but it kind of confuse me. I haven’t seen any negative reviews or post about anything like that happening. I figured that pulling them out of the frame would be a huge deal and that someone would make it public knowledge. I’m sure if I pulled the brackets out of the frame and be all over the forums 😅

I have the Rock Crawler and have no issues. A very strong and simple system.

I also have the Rock Krawler rear triangulation kit, works great. Put it through it's paces in Moab a couple weeks ago, in addition to our local trails. No complaints. I also welded it in.

I relocated my def tank to a shelf in the garage.

Probably what I’ll end up doing in the end, after my warranty falls. Only thing kinda sucks is the costs of tunes. I come from the STI and mustang world where you can buy a tuner and have a custom tune for like 600.. where’s the eco diesel tunes all seem into the thousands.

Yeah that's true. I had my TJ custom-tuned for my supercharger for under $1k in actual labor costs.

What are you gonna do, they have the service/product and you want it. Niche powertrains gonna niche

UPDATE: well ended up ordering the rock krawler setup after a decent discount from northridge using forum code. Plan on tackling the def tank relocation to bed when it gets here. Will post updates when it comes.

Are you able to tune? I did and removed the tank all together. There is a decent amount of slack in The lines but they are not that flexible. Was planning an RK 4link myself but trying to sell the jeep instead.
