Did you give your VON to jeep chat? They gave me my VIN within days.
Haven't had a chance. Stuck at work this weekend. I will try tomorrow.

Ok..
Here is your gator.
Hate it, love it, doubt my authenticity, troll me, question it, whatever you want it is what it is.
This is the production gator color.

The color looks better on the swatch than it looks on the way out concept videos

Yeah the swatch looks a lot darker, and a lot greener than the Wayout. Funny, Glacier, I thought you had stated before it was like the wayout?

The photo looks like an indoor shot, artificial light can mess with colors. A shot of the same swatch on the sun would be interesting to see any difference. Soon though hopefully we will have vehicle pics start to show up... GATOR!

I will post a color swatch sometime on sunday most likely and you can either hate it or love it.
So is this a swatch of duplicolor paint code? How did you obtain it?…

This is an exact paint sample on a piece of metal of production gator green direct from somewhere inside FCA. That's all I'm saying. I'm not going to risk people's jobs.

As mentioned before on other threads. Gator color is like a chameleon. The color looks different under natural light, incandescent light, fluorescent light, in the shade, in a poorly lit building, etc.
I can't guarentee but I bet the swatch picture was taken under fluorescent light.
I can only go by what my sources tell me & I trust them completely. I was told that gator is based directly off the wayout concept & this was the sample I was given.

The swatch probably doesn't have clearcoat on it. That may also reflect light a little differently changing the color. On my last green jeep the green touchup spots (without clearcoat) looked a little different than the factory with clearcoat

I am just curious here, not trying to start anything, but why is everyone so up in the air on this color. It has been said many times that the wayout is Gator. I know the render on the Jeep site does not look like it is the same but it is the same color I think, just darker. An honest question really.

For me, I guess it is just the assumption that the official site you would go to to explore colors and options would do a reasonably accurate job of representing those options (including colors).

It seems unreasonable, to me, that a consumer would need to reference a CONCEPT vehicle for an assumed more-accurate depiction of a PRODUCTION color—which seems pretty different from the official site.

While I think most of us here are in the group of fanatics which all share an enthusiasm and knowledge of the concept vehicles, third-party parts, and beyond and would likely be informed of things such as the Wayout concept, I think it seems unreasonable to expect a standard consumer to be aware that the online configurator is pretty far from representing what we seem to assume will be the production color.

Well put sir. If you just look at the different images of the wayout concept, they look drastically different. Like they actually built more than one. The images from ejs look brown, and the indoor images look like moss green. There it's settle. Gator looks brown in the sun and green under fluorescent lighting. Ehhh not really. There are other indoor photos from a car show where gator looks just as brown as the ejs pictures.
