This is the setup I’m planning on going with. Paintable steelies and Nitto ridge grapplers. Anyone see a reason why this setup wouldn’t work, like tire size..etc

On a search of wheels for the 2020 gladiator on Summits website, these came up as direct fits.

So this morning I was looking over social media like most of us were about the EJS concepts.

For me the Wayout Concept is my favourite as it’s almost exactly how I want to build mine, right down to the colours.

I follow a few designers and have spoken to them before in regards to a JK they own when I had my JK. He ended up tagging the Design Manager at Jeep who I inturn followed.

I’ve always loved the smooth steelies that the run on many EJS concepts but they have been hard to figure out what they were. So I decided to take a shot message him and see if I could find out any info.

Awesome guy, super nice to talk to and was able to not only answer that question but also answer some questions about other things people have asked.

First are the wheels. The wheels are Stockton Series 51, 5x5” bolt pattern 17”x8” w/ 5” backspace company is out of California.

The second thing which I know many people will be happy to know. Jeep advertises that the stock spare tire area will fit 35s. He advised me that the 37s Falkens on the Wayout concept does fit between the frame rails, the trick to making it fit is to slightly lower the air pressure. Great to know.

I had to ask him about the OEM half doors and if they will be available. His exact words “ Can’t comment on those ...yet.“

Which means that the news of them should be coming, when no idea, but it sounds like it is coming. Stokeddd.

Hope that helps any of you guys out with what you wanted to know about that awesome Wayout concept. I absolutely love it and can’t wait to build mine.

Let's just say that for those who love the concept just the way it is. I'd order the wheels and have them painted Gator. (don't beat up this question) How long before the Paint Code of Gator is available to a body shop? Are times better now to match the paint? Does someone have an answer to match the the paint? Information greatly appreciated. By the way JTRUBI great post!

Is there any way to get the gas tank storage?
the red jerry cans frenched into the fenders? i doubt anybody would make a kit for that, not enough people would buy it me thinks. probably only a custom deal.

Any idea where they got the gravel guards for the lights?

32 seconds in to the video. He claims most of the front is from "Jeep's Accessories Catalogue."
Did not see them.
Checked around the net. Saw something similar at Quadratec for an older Jeep.

For those who like the wayout concept, especially if you have the gator green color, check the black rhino "solid". Almost a perfect match. Its what i pit on mine.

Are those 17" wheels? or another size? I don't see Solids as an option that matches Gladiator when I search on the Black Rhino site.

Edit: I found them, can't find a price... what'd you pay and did you find a place online to buy them?

17s.
I actually went through amazon because I got 5% cash back and free shipping. they were $252 each. Remember, they are not a perfect match to the gator but, really close. Most people dont notice until I point it out.

Thanks! The color is moot, my truck is Sting-gray and I'd be going with the matte black. Currently comparing them to the Fifteen52 Analog wheels which are $280 a pop and often hard to get.

I actually would have liked the fifteen52 more because they seem to sit a bit more flush but with the black rhinos I didn't have to deal with powder coating....I'm on the fence if I made the right decision though. Powder coating is relatively cheap these days

I ordered the Fifteen52 Analogs.... it took months to arrive but the guy managing direct sales there is nice and keeps you updated. Out of 5 ordered, 1 had a significant defect (olive sized chip on inner edge), and 2 had minor defects I’ll live with (a bit of paint chip on inner edge on one and a scratch on inner edge of another). Still waiting to hear about getting replacement of the one with major chip.

I can’t wait to see them on the Jeep in a few weeks. I love the look, but I wonder if this design traps heat in the brakes since there is little airflow through the wheel.

I like those wheels. I just ordered a set of black Solids for my gray Sport S diesel. What size are those tires?

For everyone's current reference, I am paying $220 for the wheel and getting 37x12.5R17 General Grabber X3s from Discount Tire for $400. I can't put them on until my lift arrives and I install it. (Mid Octoberish)

17" rims. I went with 34" tires. (255/75/17) Toyo open country. I went with those tires because I wouldn't have to lift or change anything else. They were also the lightest (by a good amount per tire) in that size. They are also availble in the same load rating as the original duratecs (C). There are very few options at this size with this load rating. The most off road I see is the beach and MTB trails so I wanted to preserve ride comfort as much as possible. I get more compliments for these rims than any I've owned previously. People love the simplicity.

I had my tires fitted @ Discount Tire also. I gotta say that I was pleasantly surprised with how good the service was there. They were honestly fast, courteous, and kinda cool guys. They seemed to legitimately care the job was done well. I will definnetly go back to that location.
