Last one was a 2020 built during covid .But it’s the same engine…
Same thing happened to me at 68K miles with my 2020 Gladiator. I bought it Oct. 2019. Same exact symptoms. The passenger side intake cam (high lift lobs) and rockers were toast. totally wore out. The exhaust cam and rockers were fine. How was your driver's side intake cam ? I have not checked mine, and my truck is running great again with the new intake cam and rockers on the passenger side. I am worried the other side may have the same problem..... Thanks in advance for any info.My 2020 with 61,000 miles did the same thing.
I accelerated to pass a car - check engine light came on ,start & stop not available ? I was going over 70 duh.
Pulled over shut her off ,restarted everything was fine.
A week later same scenario took to dealer. Lifters wiped out cam .No prewarning ,no previous ticking.
I did baby her until those times to pass a slower car.
Maybe thats why it didnt show up earlier in its life.

why : how would a mechanical issue manifest itself and then completely disappear?Same thing happened to me at 68K miles with my 2020 Gladiator. I bought it Oct. 2019. Same exact symptoms. All the error codes and misfires were only the passenger side head, intake cam. The intake cam and rockers were replaced and the engine is running fine again. It is a whole other job to remove the intake and the driver's side valve cover to inspect the driver's side intake cam.... Since, I have no known issues on the Drivers side, I have not uncovered that valve cover to take a peak... So, I was wondering if anyone had the same issue on the Drivers side head.why : how would a mechanical issue manifest itself and then completely disappear?
lol, join the club... At least you did not have to pay for yours... So far, I have not heard any issues about the driver's side intake cam and rockers..., but, only time will tell...Update number 3.
picked up the gladiator today. They replaced the passenger side intake rockers and camshaft. This is a 2021 (ordered in August, built in October) with just under 30k on the odometer.
I don’t really know what to do with it now. I guess I still have about half of the powertrain warranty left so maybe I’ll just drive it and cross my fingers.
