Diesel - ECU cloning. Whats everyones advice on it?

I am interested in cloning my ECU. Whats a good option?

IIRC he had GDE clone his ECU before applying the tune. He went in person to their shop for the installation. Else afaik GDE doesn't offer cloning?

Been a few months since I kept up with gen3 tuning.

Dealer can do it. They may ask why. Cause there is a shortage of chips may need a backup
