So I have decided I am going to slowly begin modding my Jeep. I have a 2022 High Altitude. For now all I want to do is get rid of the rake, and do something with tires/wheels. Not looking to break the bank so I am putting on the Teraflex 1.5 spacer kit (I may only do the 1 inch puck).

My dilemma is what to do for the wheels and tires. Currently it has 20 inch wheels. Tires measure 31.8 inches and are Falken Wildpeak AT3 that the dealership put on to replace defective shitty factory Bridgestone Duelers. I really want to go with 17 inch wheels and 33 inch tires that have just a little poke to them (so -12 offset?).

The challenge I am seeing is most 33 inch tires are coming in E rated at Discount Tire. Plus I am unsure what PSI to run the new tires at.

Has anyone with the 20 inch wheels changed them out for 17 wheels and tires out there? What did you do as far as PSI? I have JScan and see how to change the tire size and believe I know what to do about configuring the new TPMS settings.

Sorry for the long read but just looking to see if anyone out there has advice.

E are heavier and will ride stiffer on a lighter build just so you know. I run them and it's fine but I have some extra weight. I keep pressure between 30 and 35 on my diesel. 255/80 is a good size to search.

I have a 22 HA as well. I just did the leveling kit with 275/60r20 (33.4) Mickey Thompson baja boss tires which are still SL, not e rated. Super happy with the setup And I really like the OEM 20 wheels. Many have changed to 17 wheels and c rated 35’s if you want to go bigger. But I would look at changing the shocks at that point too. With my setup, stock shocks are perfect. I also added mopar lift LCA’s.

I have 1.5 TeraFlex levellers and 285/75R17's (34") that sit at 33.2" on the truck. They are E rated tires. I am running 28 PSI cold. 305/70R17's will give you the same tire height and a little extra poke.

I did the TeraFlex leveling kit and also changed to Bilstein shocks. Chose different wheels and added Toyo AT3's at 35*11.5r17's, which are a C rated tire. Complete change in ride and drive. Lots of choices out there, good luck.

I'd look around for more pictures of examples of what you want before buying. HA to my knowledge has wide axles, which means -12 is going to be more than most people's definition of "a little" poke. I'm at +6 on 315s (which would be equivalent to -9 on 285s) and it's a little more poke than i would like which is why i put XR fender flare extensions on mine.

I really like that. Did you do the Teraflex 1.5 level? Assume because you are showing alignment pics that meant you needed one after you did everything. Are new LCAs really needed?

Yes, I did the full 1.5 leveling kit. I think the LCA’s are needed to get caster at a good point and they are cheap. I believe they provide a much better ride and since you’ll be down there wrenching anyways, why not. I would definitely recommend an alignment after you modify anything to do with the tires or steering.

Ok I’ll order the LCAs from Benny and AllMoparParts and put them in when I do the spacer lift.

thanks again.

Yes, full 1.5. If you do carry a big load in the back often, I’d say just do the one inch or add a 3/4 in the rear if you go 1.5. I’m almost perfectly level with the 1.5 and no load in the bed. Take measurements of where you’re at now to see what would work for you.

Did you do anything in regards to a spare - or are you still using the factory spare?
