Mine heats up and stays. It will darn near cook your fingers if you let it.

I am very disappointed in my heated steering wheel. The question I have is does your heated steering wheel get warm and then stay that same warm temp the whole time it is on? Mine occasionally gets warm but it never stays warm.

Is this normal?
Mine gets pretty warm and stays that way. My hands get very cold sometimes and suck the heat out of wherever I'm holding, so I shift them around the steering wheel. But the heated steering wheel is a MUCH appreciated option.

Mine gets warm, real warm, but seems to throttle back after about 10 minutes to a more comfortable level.

3 day old Rubicon and I think I've got my first problem, my steering wheel isn't nearly as warm as my 2020 Sport S Max Tow was, I'm going to need to take it in and have them take a look

Anyone know if this is remediated with a new wheel, or can they replace just the heating component?

I had a 2018 JL (Sport S) where the wheel was super toasty!
my 2022 JT (Willys) gets warm, but i definitely wouldn't call it toasty. kinda bummed about that.

based upon responses from forum members, it seems that maybe the upper threshold was changed somewhere around 2021/22...

My gut says it was a software change implemented and that changing out hardware won't change the issue...

My 2020 almost got HOT, the 2022 does nicely. It triggered yesterday by our sub-freezing temps and it acted very similar to the 2020. It was quite warm for the first half hour and then settled down a bit and just maintained a warm temperature.
If you look back over the years here, some said theirs got REALLY hot, too hot, while others said it did not, so there were differences even in the 2020 and 2021 models.
I suspect it's more of a thing involving the actual air temperature, among other things.
I'm also curious to see if the heated wheel (and seats for that matter) are voltage regulated like the lights are. If not, it could explain some of the differences we see. There were times my 202 got really hot, and times it didn't and I never thought to look at the current system voltage in either case.

Mine works fantastic! Had to turn it off this morning.

To the "where to put your hands" question, I believe 10 and 2 is out. Thumb hooks is the current recommendation. At least here in Texas

Couldn't be the defrosts... they reportedly don't work... lol

It was 31 at the house this morning, and I had to turn the steering wheel heater off after 5 minutes due to heat. (I didn't want to contribute to global warming...)

I AGREE. had the doors off on a crisp 55 degree GA fall morning, heated seats kick ass....heated steering wheel might as well not have been on.

Next time the doors were on and it was 60 or below, i turned the heated steering wheel on and left it on for a 15 minute, 8 mile trip. I forgot it was on bc it just was not warm. My RX puts it to shame.

its not a deal breaker, but i am underwhelmed.

TL;DR super happy with heated seats, not so happy with heated steering wheel.
I thought it had to be below 40 degrees to come on.
