The raptor can probably carry more plywood...

Other than everyone stopping to ask you a million questions.
Only one question matters. How much plywood does that beast haul? 66 pieces!

My bad. I just assume everybody thinks the plywood thing is as funny as I do. And by funny, I mean serious. Hauling plywood to the trail or campsite is use #1 in my book.

Donā€™t hold your breath for a Raptor V8... Thereā€™s been rumors since the Gen2 Raptor was introduced in 2016. Ford has a lot invested in the V6 Gen2 Ecoboost and theyā€™re not about to change that anytime soon....
I own both these vehicles.
The Raptor has a 13ā€ wider track width than my Rubicon has. Note - I had highway tread tires/wheels on the Jeep when this pic was taken.
The Raptorā€™s towing capacity is rated for only 8k because they have a really soft spring in them for offroad. Thereā€™s a number of people that have made minor changes to overcome this and their Raptors are towing beasts...
The Jeep 3.6 is too much of a slug when loaded down with a higher profile trailer weighing 3500#. I have no idea how they (Jeep) can rate the JT up to 7600#. Hoping that The Fast Lane Truck guys can get their hands on a JT and prove me wrong. Flat and level is not a problem. Going up Hills and Mountains over 3500ā€™ is where the 3.6 runs out of breath...

Thanks but....
I wouldnā€™t own an EPA Diesel anyway - your link just points out why the max tow rating is for the Pentastar 3.6. Iā€™m saying that if the Pentastar 3.6 is still only 285hp, it will not have the cajones to tow anything high profile like a travel trailer in the mountains and hills...
Been there - done that... Check the other thread.
The link explains why the JT has double the towing of the JL. That's what you were wondering, right?

Yes, I understand that they put a bigger radiator in and a redesigned grill and a beefier frame.
You need to try towing something heavy with that 3.6 and youā€™ll understand. If the engine does not have the nuts to haul the weight up hills and mountains at altitude, it will be a severely handicapped truck. Have read so far, indicates that the 3.6 Pentastar in the JT will be unchanged from the JK/JL 3.6 Pentastar.
Iā€™ll wait for TFL or some people to post honest towing reviews before I trade in...
