Look at the OP’s first post, even tho they gave him crazy money, they are asking even crazier money on resale.

I hated to do it, but I sold StacysMom for $500 less than a paid for a year earlier with 30k on the speedo.

And I just found mine for sale for about $1k more than they paid me.
It's a good truck with all of the TSB done and Gorilla glass added, LineX, Hotheads liner, Aux. Switches added, and the Smitybuilt bumper...

These are strange times with the high used car prices. But remember that when you trade a car in .... that trade in amount is manipulated with the price of the new car you are buying. A dealership can WOW you with a high trade in amount, but make it up on what you pay for the new car.

That's why it is best to negotiate the actual price of the car you want ...... THEN bring up your trade in.

But again. These are strange times.
But if you don't bring it up first, you miss out on a lot of the fun games screwing with the sales guy.

You can always get where you want to be if it's reasonable, just have to have the fortitude to shake their hand and walk out if you aren't getting there.

I been begging my wife to trade in the Toyota Highlander for something with better gas mileage and that doesn't take up my whole garage. We got offered a lot of money for it but she is stubborn and just refuses to part with it

I was offered $53k for my $47k new JLUR with 19k on it. I would have done it if I could have got a similar deal again… but I’d be pissing away the 8%below invoice I originally paid.

The market is only good for a seller if you don't need to turn around and be a buyer right away.

These crazy trade in prices are not as common as they were a few months ago. And are apparently region based. I tried Carvana and Vroom and the price on my 5 month old 2021 Willys with 5k miles was $36k to $41k. Even the dealer I bought it from could only do $43k. Sticker was $49725.
I went to WeBuyAnyCar and they offered me $47 for my just under year old Rubicon that I paid $45 before TTT. Vroom was $44 and Dealer offered a $46K trade in.
