I just bought a 2021 Mojave with all 4 doors doing this. It was starting to annoy me so took it to dealership and they fixed all four doors. It was covered under my extended warranty coverage that i bought for $3500, so it cost me the $100 deductible. With no coverage per the receipt it would have cost just over $1800, parts were $80.
Any idea what they did to fix it? People here seem to indicate there is no fix.

I’d love to know as well. I’ve got two that do it on my 21. I’ve got replacement door checks, but haven’t had a chance to install them. They don’t click with the checks disconnected, so I’m guessing that will do it.

What weld is broken? You can probably fix that with some good epoxy.
I’d like to know as well, but I’ll be looking closely when I get around to this.

Ok I think I found a fix, just need someone else to verify it. This is a very easy and simple fix for now using electrical tape. I found that the outer door frame next to the door check is flexing/rubbing the interior door frame. You can test by pulling out on the corner of the door frame to see if it stops. I just forced some folded tape between the seam on the corner and it work.

My driver's door started clicking back in 2022, when my JTM was a year old.
That was soon followed by the passenger's front door, although not as bad as the driver's door. I unhooked the door check to 'fix' the driver's door but never did anything for the passenger's front door. It would click every time the door was opened or closed.

I saw the post above back when I was trying to fix the clicking, but there was simply not enough room to shove anything into the seam area where GRcrawler put the tape. So, I forgot all about it until recently.

About a week ago, on a whim, I applied some Boeshield to that seam on my clicking front passenger door. The clicking noise stopped, and it has been gone ever since. I can't believe it worked.

For those with the door clicking, you may want to try this remedy.

Could you please elaborate? I’m not familiar with boeshield. Which seam did you address? Can you please show me some pictures? Much appreciated. If I can fix this it would be amazing. Driver and passenger rear for me. Also started around a year old. Thanks!

I don't have any pictures, but the post by GRcrawler shows the seam where they put the tape. I just squirted Boeshield into that same seam.

Boeshield T-9 is a lubricant and protectant. It is a thin enough liquid to penetrate and it takes a while to dry, so it creeps quite well.

Added one of GRcrawler's pictures with arrows showing the seam.
I found their post just now. I’m definitely going to try that. So boeshield dries and ends up working similar to tape, but can be used without having to pry the metal apart? If I’m understanding that correctly, I like that better than prying.

I don’t as convinced the door check was the issue. So I bought replacements but haven’t gotten around to it. But if they’re just putting pressure on the problem spot, replacing them won’t help.

Yeah, I just sprayed it in there. Not sure if it is a permanent fix, but I regularly treat my exterior door hinges with Boeshield, so I'll just add these seams to the list of areas to apply.

I've had this issue on all four doors. It was driving me nuts - the driver door is the worst of them, I tried the tape trick, lubing, and several other things over the last year or so. Disconnected the check for a while which removed the noise problem but it's pretty annoying to have the door not stay open by itself.

Anyway, I bought a new door check (68297663AC) from eBay for $16. Replaced it last night. Guys - I should have started here. The door is silent now. It's been so long since the door has been quiet that I didn't even believe it could be so silent. Took me 20 minutes. Part number 68297663AC works for left and right front doors.

Upon inspecting the old door check, I found that it had gotten dirt/grime in the spring-loaded pins that drop into the detents. Because of this, they had irregular wear on them that prevented them from dropping down smoothly, hence the loud clicking noise as they would release abruptly. Mine had progressed beyond a click - more like a bang that would echo through a parking garage as they released. I'm so glad I did this. The cost to benefit ratio is amazing.

This is amazing news! I’ve had two door checks laying around for like two years, but I read that it doesn’t help, so I never put them in. So happy that I can give it a shot with a likelihood that it’ll fix the two that do it on mine.
