Electronic sway control

I know this is a little dated... but I was recently looking at my window sticker and noticed the "electronic trailer sway control "

And then I ran across this thread.

Is this function automatic ? Where is the "button" or where is it in the instrument cluster ? How are you enabling/disabling it ?

You don't do anything at all other than hook your trailer up and tow. It knows and does the rest.
There is no button, no choice to make, nothing to turn on or off.

It confused me because the OP opened up the thread talking about disabling it... so thanks for clarification.

Don't know why one would want to try to disable it.
I suspect, because he saw mention of it in "towing forums" he was reading posts from people who think they know better, but don't.

If you control sway with correct loading of a trailer (weight fore vs. aft but also the height of said weight0, a correct setup (hitch height correct, trailer LEVEL, and so on) you should have no sway so there should be little to control.

I wonder if those who disable it are trying to compensate for other bad habits.

Sway is the thing being towed going faster than the vehicle doing the towing........

Weight as low as possible. Don't stuff high cabinets full of heavy stuff. Keep heavy stuff low as possible.

You’re pretty knowledgeable, I was going to buy a smaller RV like 3800 lbs 21 ft but to my absolutely shock, the payload on my rubicon is pure sheet (1126) and after my family is (500lbs total) I can barely tow anything including I guess gear and tongue weight lol Wtf gives explain that
