What size trailer do you tow?
Just getting back to this, sorry for the delay.

Mine is a 16' V nose, it's 20' over, 7' wide, loaded at 5500 it's a little beef cake.

Good to know , yea the wind seems to be my only issue I have now, I have an older curt bar and chain , don’t help with that but levels good that’s why I am looking to upgrade
If your happy with your current WDH setup, you could always just add one of these. https://a.co/d/iL1AGhB
I run one with my old school EZ-Lift wdh and have no complaints. Ran this basic setup on 2 trailers with 6 different tow vehicles. Currently I'm only using the sway control, don't need the wdh for our enclosed trailer. Maybe once I'm done converting it to a toyhauler/camp trailer I'll use the wdh again.

So what are you guys using for hitches? What brand and how do you like it? I am ready to upgrade from my old curt and looking for options, must have sway control of some type , what’s the good the bad and the ugly of them ? Will be towing a flagstaff 22 ft 5100 empty that weight does include propane and batteries
I use a Fastway E2. It is made by the same company that makes the Equalizer but it only has two point friction control vs four point on the Equalizer. I tow a 7K travel trailer with 800 lb tongue weight with my Ram 2500 Hemi, and it does fantastic with zero sway and costs a lot less than the Equalizer. Friction is what reduces sway. You can get what are called "round bar" or square bar "Trunion." I also towed with a 1500. The big advantage of the E2 and Equalizer is that you don't have any stinking chains... You can back up with them on and they are well made US products, heavy duty. Easy to use once you get them broke in. I prefer the round bar but either is fine.

I've been using mine for 7 years now on two trucks. I got the 10,000 lb one you can get smaller ones around your trailer weight. I started with a smaller trailer and got the next size up and grew into it with the trailer I have now. The E2 will run you 400 to 500 bucks while the Equalizer is 800 every day... If you want to research hitches it is a rat hole... There are better hitches that cost a couple thousand bucks and some interesting ones but in the end, you want something that is not too expensive, high quality, does the job, easy to use and store and the E2 is sold everywhere. Oh, I do recommend getting a pair of the Equalizer clips that secure the bars and keeping the E2 ones in reserve and one day you will need one in reserve. Why? The Equalizer clips are so easy to use with no losable clip involved... I know all of this by experience... Each trailer, truck set up is different and for whatever reason usually physics at levels only a dedicated engineer can discern some set ups for some reason will have negative characteristics involving sway. If you can afford it and just to be extra cautious, get an Equalizer, but I have NEVER had a sway issue using the E2. Ocasionally, I've not used the bars for a short trip and to see and I do know what sway is and do NOT like it at all... An E2, will tigthen up a sloppy connection FAST...WAY... No, I don't own stock or work for them.

Oh, did I mention that there are NO, ZERO CHAINS and you can back up with them on and NOT have to get out and unhook the chains? No Chains!, I repeat, NO CHAINS.

I have a WDH hitch with chains, you can back up hitches with chains, I do it all the time, and go to the point of jack knifing and still no problem, so not sure it is a blanket statement that applies. I've towed with both types and much prefer chains, I also used a chain setup with the friction add on sway control, had to be set right and had to be removed to back up turning hard.......Jack
