I have a 2023 Gladiator Sport with max tow pkg. According to window sticker, it has Electronic Trailer Sway Control (and ESC, electronic stability control). I have a single axle, 4100 pound Jayco with an Andersen WDH. Some say that the ETSC and the WDH work against each other. I'd value forum's opinion about this.

I’ve had sway control on other vehicles and have towed up to 31’ travel trailers with WDH and sway control (Equilizer WDH) without issue. Never had a problem. I also wouldn’t tow a travel trailer of any size without a WDH with sway control.

For clarification: some on the internet say that sway control from the Jeep (ETSC) and from the trailer (Andersen WDH) are redundant and may actually work against each other. Had one harrowing misadventure where probably the Andersen wasn't tightened enough or the semi that blew past me was going way too fast. :(

#1 If you are setup right you should never get any sway.
#2 Do you have a brake controller? If you do, and you get any sway, hit the manual trailer brake button, control the sway, and then stop and fix the weight distribution/setup so you don't get sway.

I tow just about the same weight as you with the anderson and have never had any issues. I have a Mojave with the sway control as well. Love the Anderson WDH.

Some say that the ETSC and the WDH work against each other.
Where's their supporting evidence?

Here's how I see it - the physical sway control is a brake of sorts - a damper.
With that there should be no sway IF you have loaded that trailer correctly and properly - you should not have sway.
The ESC would not sense any sway so is bored and does nothing.
I can't really see how a physical device that physically prevents or reduces sway could work against anything electronic. it's like saying that the electronic system will hate it if your trailer doesn't sway.

This guy has several videos - excellent, on sway, heavy vs. light, loading, high weight vs low weight and so on. Keep the weight LOW, centered, proper tongue weight.....

I really appreciate everybody's input. I initially reached out to Andersen (see attached email) whose reply only confused me more. I have contacted Jeep customer service (twice) but have not received any response though they state that they will reply within 24 hours.
I have seen where ESC should not be disengaged when going over 45 mph. Which brings me to the other part of my question--my Jeep has ETSC (Electronic Trailer Sway Control) and ESC (Electronic Stability Control). What is the difference, if any?
If you haven't guessed it by now, I am a relative newbie.

My take - they don't know what they are talking about.
You are talking with sales people, not engineers.

Sway control is a physical brake on the hitch - they can't counteract anything in the Jeep's controls.
Hundreds of people tow every day with sway control hitches.
BTW - don't even think about disabling the Jeep's stability control on the highway.
Run them both. So far no one has any evidence or shown where there is actually a problem and I submit - there can't be a problem because the Jeep would only try to mitigate sway if there was sway - indicating your hitch sway control isn't working.

I'll come right out and say it - it's not a problem.
Jeep also does not, in any documentation, suggest to disable anything at all.

Jeep's sway control will ONLY come into play if there is sway.
If the hitch is doing it's job, there won't be sway.
If there is sway, the hitch isn't working so you need the truck to handle it.
So how could there be a problem?

Sounds reasonable. I'll go with that. Thanks.
