Just experienced a knocking sound while braking. At first I wasn’t sure if it’s my JT or a sound near by. So I turned down the radio and at the next next light it happen again as was louder. My wife also took notice so we pulled over into a parking.

I feared my neighbors cat may have been hanging out in the JT engine compartment since we’ve had some chilly nights as of late. I popped the hood and looked around. Looked underneath and walked the vehicle. Nothing. Turned the engine off and on a few times. Nothing. We drove off and nothing.

Anyone else experience this? It only happen two times on that drive as I was pressing the brake to slowdown. The sound it made immediately took me back to scene in Aliens as Ripley is slowing down their APC after the big escape. ? knocking back and forth.

You've blown the transaxle Ripley, ease it down.

My first instinct would take me to the front brakes, see if the calipers were hanging up somehow or had some debris/ice/xenomorph guts in them.

Maybe we could build a fire, sing a couple of songs, huh? Why don't we try that?

Thanks! If it happens again this baby is headed back to the dealership. Less than 2k miles on it... yuk.

Check your brake caliper bracket bolts. I found my front driver bracket VERY loose, with bolts backed out about 1/4". This was at around 12,000 miles.
