Jeez...I've had my truck a little over 30 days and I am already getting your factory warranty on your 2022 Jeep is about to expire.

The thing that bugs me the most, because we have elderly parents, is the predatory tone to the wording in these things. "Our records indicate that you have not activated an important part of your vehicle's warranty and you need to call right away! If you do not activate this service you WILL be responsible for any repairs to your vehicle once the factory warranty expires"...etc.

Drives me crazy. If you are elderly(or english as a second language) it makes it appear that you must do this as a regular part of your warranty.

I mean at this point, scams have been around so long and are so ubiquitous, I think it's on the person who gets scammed. Assume someone on the phone is full of sht 100% of the time going in and you'll be OK.

And if it's a robo-call, people should know to automatically hang up.

Or, don't answer a number that isn't programmed into your phone. If it's important, then will leave a coherent and cordial message. If it is really important, they will call back right away.

If it is an emergency, they will start with, "This is So in So from government department. May I speak to Mr./Ms. Phone Owner regarding an urgent matter?" I dread the day I get one of those phone calls about kids/family.

I have fun with the scammer calls. I see how long I can keep them on the phone. My wifey thinks I'm nuts for doing it. when they ask for what vehicle I have. I'll tell something like a 1980 Dodge W200 with 2,000 miles on it. Or a 2021 Lambo with 150,000 miles on it. When I tell them that. The phone normally goes dead.

I'm having new hardwood flooring installed in my home (replacing carpeting) and on the sub floor, I wrote in big black letters with a large Sharpie, "This is your car's warranty company. We are trying to contact you about your extended warranty..."

Maybe in 50 years, someone will replace the flooring and find that and go, "HUNH???"
