Curious if anyone has this or has experience with it. A few weeks ago I had pieced together my own kit and found it to be quite a lot more expensive than just one of the various kits you can buy. I am not yet sold on getting a kit instead of piecing together my own, as theres a lot not included here that I would like, and some things included that I don't care for. But it fits the basic needs - not sure if it's worth the 1K price tag though, but these guys do make good stuff

That seems expensive to me.

I put together a kit with a yankum, couple of soft and hard shackles and a tree saver and snatch block for quite a bit less.

If you don't have anything, I'd probably start here:

https://yankum.com/products/jeep-off-road-bundles?variant=41219240689870

Grab the essential kit and then maybe add these:

Tree saver: https://www.northridge4x4.com/part/88897-warn-tree-trunk-protector-2x8

Synthetic snatch block https://www.northridge4x4.com/part/...overland-vehicle-systems-recovery-ring-6-25in

The jeep doesn't need the hitch recovery point in my opinion, so I personally wouldn't bother with it.

Lots of different ways to go, I guess it really depends on your use case.

The only thing in that kit that I'd entertain getting is the synthetic line snatch block. I have some other parts from them, but only because I thought the engineering was superior.

nothing against their kit but, you can do more for your money a nice kinetic rope, soft shackles, snatch block, etc etc you can build a nice kit for 1/2 that. Now most of my recoveries are sand based so you might need a tree saver or more but build as you gain experience. Will still be more economical

MIm not so sure. Which is why I am asking. I pieced out my own kit with quality rated items and it came to over 1500 for individual items. Of course that was with quite a lot more items though

Gear America or Rhino USA are your friend, can do this kit for 500 or less and still have high quality reliable items.
I will look into those thank you

I think this is going to come down to whether or not you appreciate the all-in-one nature of the kit, that's it's USA made, and that you require highest quality.

As others have said you can price out other kits that aren't as meticulously engineered and fabricated, but only you can make the call if the premium price for the premium pieces are worth it.

If you're going to use it weekly splurge on it, if it's a "just in case" kit piece part your own bare essentials kit and throw it all in a cheap backpack.

Bubba rope kit with a 30ft rope and 2 soft shackles, 2 Badlands 9ton D-ring shackles and 2 Badlands 4x8 tree straps all fit in the mesh bag that comes with the rope, which I like because it aids in drying to prevent mold and mildew if it will be a while before you can properly clean and dry your equipment. Total = $435. Leaves plenty of room for the Factor55 other goodies.

I already have the 1.5 inch fairlead. I wanted this due to the better radius ramp to better protect my synthetic winch line. I also have the UltraHook, but I need the rope retention pulley. If I add these 3 items or an additional $505 to the total of above we’re at $940…still below your $1,000 and you have more parts.

You can get that same kit at northridge 4x4 for a hell of a lot cheaper. And use the various discount codes that they offer or some YouTubers have on their channels. That’s what I did and I think I paid mid 700s.

I have 4 of those pieces . I don't remember what I paid though. I mixed it with Agency6 stuff. Factory55 and Agency6 both good products.

Factory 55 is awesome stuff, I have some in my kit, the flat link, narrow fairlead, and three shackles. The very most important important part that I will not sacrifice quality is the Shackles, I only use USA made Crosby shackles, and Factor 55 price was competitive with others selling them, plus they powder coat them. I agree with others pick and choose what you want as for the hitch mount attachment point there is a real nice one out there that uses a soft shackle inside the hitch, I went with a modified Sheridan hitch skid with attachment point.

Unless you have a narrow drum winch, which would net you 1/3 or 1/2 line length or an ATV winch, why did you go with the narrow fairlead? Wouldn't this lead to over stacking in the center of the drum and cause more wear to the line? (edited) After a second look with the receiver, I'm guessing you have an ATV winch for use with a blade for plowing snow...???

The Badlands shackles are listed as being E-coated, which is a step above regular powder coating. The 9t rating is not their failure rating. Other shackles rated at 6.5T have a failure rating in the 50k range for reference. I'm all about using better engineered parts where it may make a difference, but I'm not about just giving it away because of name brand. I'll also look for ways to buy USA, but not when there's a crazy difference in price without an engineering advantage.

I have a narrow 9000 lb. winch with fifty feet of line, will work for me, winch including Fairlead is about 52 lbs. that's why. The company I work for is pretty big in Civil Highway, quarry, asphalt plants in four states, they years ago went to only Crosby shackles, before they shopped price and had issues with slight bending not letting pin come out and failures. Yes I will buy American if I can, supporting American companies is just one part of fixing what is wrong in America. Yes I am aware Jeep is no longer an American company, and Mack truck , which I am very close to is also a foreign company now.....Jack
