Factory Alarm output - Rubicon almost stolen from my driveway

I really wonder if this is related to the other Ontario Gladiator theft that happened a few months back. Same process. I don't know if good hood locks would solve it, because chargers and challengers are unfortunately getting stolen the same way. The key cloning thing is a huge Mopar liability.

Not everyone wants it enabled. It would be quite annoying to have the alarm go off every time I check the oil. I don't unlock it just to open the hood. It's great to have the option, but I don't need it right now.

They picked the door lock to get in, I do t think a cheap hood lock will stop them.

picked the door lock? How? Or did they do a relay from your fob to the gladiator to open the door which makes more sense.

You also may want to look into an OBD lock that prevents someone from plugging into the OBD port.

Simple Kill Switch wired into the Push To Start button. They may be able to spoof your fob and remote start the engine but they will not be able to get it in gear to drive it away.

My reverse lights stayed on while driving anytime it was unlocked with the keyfob instead of the proximity handles. It’s dead to me.

wow ok. You do realize that there's updates time to time to add new requested features and work out bugs like most computer systems(like even your jeep). Extremely shortsighted of you lol

I never said they were Canada”S smartest criminals when the soft top was on and they could of just popped open the back window. Yup they kneeled down and old school picked the lock, it was also obvious as they was smudge marks on the dirt and the key cylinder was turned sideways Here is a video of car lock being picked i am fairly sure they unplug the wires to the OBD2 port and use a bypass cable. So a lock may not do it. I am not sure why they also ripped out the glove box. I think they disabled the uconnect as well.

My 2021 has and still sets off the alarm when the hood is opened.
I didn’t enable anything.

My 2022 that I ordered is the same way. Horn goes off if I open my hood with the doors locked from the factory. I don't own a programmer.

Yes, but you will not get it out of PARK until you flip the Kill Switch.

Mine used to alarm and no longer does. It has been to the dealership recently for warranty work. Maybe they disabled it for some reason. I should call and ask.

Honestly, Just pick up a good set of Locking Hood latches and a ring security camera.

….if my home alarm went off and I had to start clearing my house while worrying about my Jeep being stolen from the driveway I might consider myself a little distracted. What’s worth more? What can you secure the best? Try not the to divide your attention or resources.

The other person who had this happen to them was also in Ontario. Theirs was successfully stolen. Glad yours wasn't. Something is going on in ON lately.
Tazer will enable hood alarms.

The fact that that setting exists in the BCM and isn't enabled by default, or at least somewhere user accessible in the menus, has me scratching my head.
